Does anyone know how to repair this damaged activex file? {E2883e8F-472F-4FB0-9522-AC9BF37916A7} If an update will fix it, then please include instructions on how to update it, because when it is right clicked there is no update option, only an option to view the properties. Thanks in advance.

Hi, No, an update will not fix a damaged file. What is the ActiveX for, what program? Also what operating system and browser(s) and versions?

I've noticed that you replied to another thread. That is fine, except any info regarding your issue should be posted on your thread:-)

    Thanks,

Thank you so much for your reply!  I will try my best to fill in the blanks for you. The file is for adobe flash player 10. I am using IE8 for my browser, and operating system windows32.

Thank you again, I checked both places and have neither of the items you mentioned

Ok, go to Start, click on Search. You are going to search for two files. One is gp.ocx and gp.inf. When you find their locations, right click on them and either delete or remove. This should remove the ActiveX that is damaged. I think these files and the ActiveX is left over from a DLM/getPlus even tho those don't show up in your Programs.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,
