Legally purchased CS6 serial revoked

First of all, I am so glad I never gave in to the CC subscription model. Seeing what an absolute nightmare Adobe support is turning out to be I will be super hard pressed handing over another dime to Adobe.

I recently purchased a new machine, deactivated the CS6 suite on my old one, and installed my LEGALLY–for top-dollar–PURCHASED CS onto my new machine. Upon entering my serial number however, I get an error message telling me that my license has somehow been revoked.

I have been in contact with Adobe’s ‘support’ for hours on end for well over a week now, and was promised a resolution within five business days. This is after I was criminalised for having a ‘non-genuine product’ and send to a page that explained that this error message crops up when buying an illegal copy of CS. It is now well over seven business days and I have yet to hear back. I have full proof that I purchased my CS6 and all previous CS versions before that legally to hand over, with all software being registered officially, yet Adobe does not care about this. They send my support request from team to team, without any solution or getting back to me.

Nowadays I mainly design in Sketch and Framer X, but have to resort to Adobe products every now and again for old projects and third party deliverables. And of course at this very moment, well last week actually, I need to open old project files for me to continue working, rendering my business to a halt for this project.

As an ultimate solution I now seem unfortunately forced to acquire a pirated version of a software package that I paid multiple 1.000’s of dollars for over the years in order to continue working. This is absolutely outrageous Adobe!

I received a survey asking me for my experience gaining access to my legally purchased software suite.

The survey again criminalise me by asking “What is your primary reason for not purchasing Adobe Genuine software”… :-(

From my recollection I had always deactivated my CS before moving over to a new machine. The last week must have seen a lot of activation request though, since I tried activating it over and over again still trusting software that expensive would provide me with decent customer care.

Let’s hope for the best, but I am unfortunately seeing more nightmare stories along the same line from other paying Adobe customers and it seems to be an all to oft-recurring issue… I hope I will be one of those individuals that is able to report back positively in the end, although this whole ordeal has made me loose trust in Adobe, at least for the time being. The way paying customers are treated by the support teams is seriously appalling and outright perverse to say the least…

To clarify, Rogier, when I refer to excessive activation requests I am talking in the hundreds or thousands.  Behavior which would not occur for any typical user.

I do not know precisely how your serial number was identified.  I only provided one of the example scenarios.  Please do update this public forum discussion if you face any additional difficulties with the process.

Thanks!

I have however tried contacting that specific team mentioned on that page over the past seven days to no avail.

I will keep this post updated once I have heard back in three days.

Rogier, I can confirm that the serial number you offered in case ADB-5352752-Y1T6 has been flagged for piracy.  Your support case is still open, and you can use the process listed in View Adobe Support cases to update the support case with your proof of purchase or any additional information you would like to provide.

For more information on why serial numbers can be revoked for piracy see Invalid or revoked serial numbers .  I understand that you are the victim in this case, but somehow the serial number did become available and thus was revoked.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your reply. I have added the proof of purchase to the support case. Are you able to review this asap?

Best,

Rogier

Rogier, thanks for the update.  I don't have any control over the process itself but please do update this public forum discussion if you continue to encounter difficulties and I can ask that the case is reviewed.

I would expect that you should receive a response within two to 3 business days depending upon how many other individuals the team is helping.

You can also use the link offered in Invalid or revoked serial numbers to connect directly with the team who is able to handle these type of concerns. I would recommend you bookmark the page in case you need to reference it in the future, Rogier.
