I have updated to 28.6 yesterday and, ever since, whenever Illustrator is running, the screensaver is not being allowed to follow the System Settings set in macOS Sonoma 14.5 (M3 Max).
How do I know it is Illustrator?
1. it persists through log out and macOS restart
2. through trial and error, I excluded all other apps and it is the only one doing this.
I do not recall this happening on 28.5, and I will likely uninstall this version and revert to the older one if this persists.
Thank you

A short video of the screen saver not kicking in? That would be meaningless since it would just be a static screen.
I have the same problem. Just purchased an illustrator subscription yesterday and now my 3(!) 4K screens never shut off. Wasted a lot of electricity today since I was out most day and couldn't shut down my computer.

And you also can't just turn off the monitors? They should have a button for that.
Which system is it?
I have no issues with the screensaver on MacOS. But it's not Sonoma.

No on-off buttons for Apple Studio Display, which is what I have, and I'm currenrly experiencing the same issue as Inélsòre and Fredrik. Came home and realized my computer didn't just NOT start the screen saver, but also it never went to sleep, either.

Hi, I'm having the same issue as Inélsòre (and Fredrick, who also commented)
I'm running Illustrator 28.6 on a Macbook Pro (14-inch, 2023, M2 Max) running Sonoma 14.6.1. - If Illustrator is open, the screen saver / sleep mode will not engage. If Illustrator is SHUT DOWN AND CLOSED, then the screen saver and sleep mode engages.
I figured this out because the CEPHtmlEngine (for Illustrator), according to the Activity Monitor, is preventing the system from entering sleep mode.
Please let us know what we can do to solve the issue.

I am also having this issue since downloading the app on August 27, 2024. I did not have any issues with the screensaver not activating before I installed the Creative Cloud Suite and Adobe Illustrator. This creates a security concern as the computer does not automatically engage the screensaver after the specified amount of time prompting a password to get back in to the computer. I spent 3 hours on Apple Support Chat and it was finally pinpointed to AI after multiple tests and even unintalling the app and downloading it again. The chat agent at Adobe I spoke with moments ago argued with me telling me that it was an Apple software issue and I needed to contact Apple. When I informed him that I spent three hours with them and everything we did to determine the issue, he said the backend support team has been notified and we just need to be patient and wait for the next AI update.

Me too. I have a Mac Studio with an M1 MAX processor running Sonoma 14.6.1. I noticed the issue a few weeks ago but finally worked out that it was Illustrator (28.6) a few days ago. I have to shut down AI whenever I need to walk away from my computer for more than 10 minutes. If I don't the screen will still be on hours later.

Same here; the screen saver doesn't start until I quit Illustrator 28.6 (iMac 27" 2017 Ventura 13.6.9).
