Is there a way to add a gap for bleed between 'Facing Pages'?

I don't want the bleed to appear on the opposite page (on my exported PDF). I would like to show the bleed as if the document was set up without facing pages. Sample attached: current bleed, facing pages, without facing pages.

You don't need the page tool to do this.

Set up as facing pages, and in the Pages Panel flyout menu uncheck Allow Document Pages to Shuffle. You can then simply grab one page of any spread in the panel and drag it away from its partner until you see a vertical line.

Very odd - the pages tool only allows me to move page up or down - you can't separate the pages anymore on the X ???

When did that change?

Ah ok you can only do it when it's NOT facing pages

But ou can move the page on a document beside another page

Use the Page Tool and separate the page on the X axis

This then shows the bleed for the page that's beside it

When you make the pdf it shows the bleeds

Make sure Spreads is selected when making the PDF.

In the Document Setup - Facing Pages has to be ticked off.

Allow pages to shuffle = off

Move page 3 up beside page 2

Page tool

MOve it across

----------------------------------------------------

IF you already have a document with Facing Pages

Turn off Facing PAges

Then repeat the above process.

*****NOTE******

It's best to start with a Facing Pages document - as you can retain your Left and Right Parent pages.

You can do this manually by dragging the page slightly to the side.

Hi @Friends10 , If the binding method uses folded and gathered signatures—e.g. saddle stitch, perfect binding—the inside bleed would be removed during the imposition at the folds, so its content doesn’t really matter.

If it’s something like wire-o where the inside page edges are exposed and trimmed, then you might setup the document as non facing pages, but with spreads—with Facing Pages unchecked the Pages tool can be used to separate the spread pages. See this thread:

Keep in mind that with Facing Pages unchecked there is no spine so the Paragraph justification setting Align Toward Spine does not work.
