Not sure what special character this is..

Hi there,

I had a freelancer do some work for me, and when I got it back, it has these weird brackets (invisibles) on the master page. When I go to the live page, the code has been added. I think it's some sort of insert special character, but I've never seen it before!

    Those look like XML markers. Try View > Structure > Show/Hide Tag Markers to toggle the visibility.

    Yes, looks like you are correct. Looks like they have used Tagged Frames and Tagged Markers. Do you know what the purpose of it is?

    Maybe because they were changing prices and codes only? (No other work was needed) I also see a .txt in the links that is embedded.

    Never seen this before!

    XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a way to repurpose data in a file or automate the process of replacing the data in one file with data from another file. The latter is what I expect was going on here, but if it were me, I'd touch base with the freelancer and ask directly.
