After updating LR today from the Cloud app on my PC it now fails with an error every time I open it. I have tried updating graphic card drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled LR itself but the problem persists. Was working fine yesterday. It is now unusable as the error occurs on starting up the software. Have sent crash reports via the error popup. Urgent help requested!

Call them. They’re very good at figuring out what wrong. The trick is getting the right person on the phone.

Ok I scrolled through all this . Thank you Rikk and  John ... so should we uninstall 11.3.1 before we resinstall an earlier version or would that screw up all LRC set ups we have?

You should do this from Adobe Creative Cloud App. at the far right of your LrC installation click on the ... and you will have an option "other versions" click on that and select 11.2. That will uninstall 11.3.1 and install 11.2.

See the screen capture.

Install 11.2 from Creative Cloud app. You don’t have to uninstall anything. LRC will do it for you.

Yeah I did uninstall it through creative cloud and then reinstall through there. Whatever patch the did in the last update is bugged they need to fix it and redeploy a fix.

Is there a fix for those using the licensed, non-subscriptioned LR?  No updates are available in the app.

Are you referring to LR 6 or earlier?  I recommend starting a new thread, since problems with those very old versions crashing are almost certainly unrelated to the cause of the crashes in this thread. Be sure to include a screenshot of any error messages, the precise version of LR, and the operating-system version.

Note that Adobe only provides bug fixes for Lightroom Classic 11 (the subscription version) -- older versions (subscription and perpetual licensed) are unsupported.  But sometimes people here can help with crashes of older versions.

LR 11.3 and 11.3.1 appear much buggier than the typical releases. Try rolling back to 11.2.

Do you specifically want the older version? It's possible that the age of
whatever version you're using is the problem. Try reaching out via Adobe's
chat function and see if someone can talk you through the options. Good
luck.

Has there been any success to this update.  I have tried everything and it continues to fail. This is messing with my business. Everything is up-to-date but the program will not launch nor provide with the option to report as others have done in previous comments. Help is needed ASAP.

Hello all,

I am in the same boat where it will not even show splash screen as I launch LRc (Mac OS) and here's my story:

1. LRc crashed on start with this report: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4l8y3v61i2f2rit/Adobe%20LRc%20crach.docx?dl=0

2. I searched online and found a few things I could do about it

3. I reset preferences

4. Renamed two folders in Library path

5. Rolled back to 11.3, 11.2

6. Contacted Adobe Support during which we had a screen sharing session, did full uninstall using cleanup tool, reinstalled CC, reinstalled 11.3.1, created a new admin account and were able to launch LRc without an issue.

7. Logging back into the original account, I'm back to where I started unable to find a workaround.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

@max.krukovsky, this thread is focused on a particular Windows error, which was fixed in LR 11.3.1, while you're on Mac OS 12.3.1. Something changed in Mac OS 12.3.1, and many people are finding they need to grant LR Full Disk Access. See:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/disk-permissions-monterey-classic/

If that doesn't help, please start a new thread describing your problem.

@max.krukovsky Let us know if you're able to resolve this issue after granting full access to Lightroom Classic on macOS?

Thanks,

Mohit
