Thanks for the video screen captures.

It does not appear so, but are you using any Accessibility settings related to zoom or touch?

A bug report is logged, and the team is going to need time to understand why & how this happening.  I imagine the coming holidays are going to slow that down.  I mention all this to say that if things seem quiet on our side, do not worry that the team is ignoring the issue reported here.  Thank you All for reaching out to us!

@oeht could you do me the favor and try the Apple Pencil pressure sensitivity with the  Notes app and let us know your results? Does this work with your Apple-Pencil without any issues ?  In addition do you have a different Apple-Pencil-tip at hand which you could try with?

I'm not using pressure-sensitivity in any app (as far as I know). To be honest I cannot find the setting in Apple Notes (Notities in Dutch I presume). I do ot have another tip at my disposal.

@oeht and when you try via the notes app does this work with your stylus so that you can draw with pressure sensitivness?

This bug was driving me crazy - but now good news. After updating PadOS to 15.2.1 the brush mask is now working correctly with Lightroom 7.1.1 and apple pencil 2. I guess it was something on the apple side.

Did the update, unfortunately no improvement for me. Same issue still remains.

@oeht , just to be clear, the update you tried was iPadOS 15.2.1 (and not just Lightroom 7.1.1)?

@TaeAnnPhoto , can you also try updating to iOS 15.2.1 and let us know if that helps?

Lightroom developers cannot reproduce this, and wonder if this may be a hardware issue.  Apple Pencil tips do wear out.  If possible, please try a new Pencil tip, and let us know if that helps.

Both are up to date (LR and IPad). I've also replaced the pencil tip, to no avail.

Lightroom v7.1.1, iPad pro , Apple pencil II  IOS 15.2.1
When editing a mask using the pencil, after clicking "Done", lightroom does not restore the top menu. Both the cloud and export icons are missing and the help and menu (...) icons are present but inactive. They both change (shadow) when clicked but do nothing.
The only way the restore the top menu bar is to exit the app and re-open it.

However, if using your finger instead of the pencil it works fine.
Apple has confirmed the pencil is functioning properly.
I have removed and reinstalled lightroom as well as stopped and started the ipad.

Hi Paul, we weren't able to reproduce your issue with Apple pencil... are you still seeing that? We wonder if the issue happens during some unexpected double tap/ two finger tap, something like that? Also, it would be interesting to know if this always happens or only after a certain action.

Did you ever find a solution? I have the exact same issue you reported and using the latest updates of both LR and IPad OS on an IPad Pro 4th gen... so frustrating that everything works fine except the brush stroke.

Was this issue ever resolved? As of a few weeks ago, the brush masking has not been working in Lightroom on my iPad. I see this post is from 2021 but this is an issue for me now and I haven't come across an actual resolution for this yet when troubleshooting.

My pencil is not even a year old. It works perfectly fine in all other
aspects of lr and other programs. Just not the brush tool. Strange.

Has this been resolved? I can't use Lightroom on the ipad if I can't use the mask tool.

It ended up being my pencil which suprised me cause it worked everywhere else in every other application. I tested it by going down to the Apple Store and asking them to troubleshoot it. First we tried another Apple Pencil Gen 2, and to my suprise it worked perfectly. I then swapped out the tip of my pencil with a new one and tried myself, and still it would not register. I ended up doing an exchange of my pencil as I still had it under warranty and I havent had a single issue since then. I have no idea why this was the case, maybee a bunch of them slipped the QA at Apple???

Hi. I recently bought an iPad Pro 12.9 m2 and Apple Pencil 2th gen. For graphic design, photo editing. When I started to run the app on the iPad I realized the Apple Pencil doesn't work to brush correctly in the mask function. The brush function with the pencil is to weak, useless. And with the finger works mormal. This is the function that I use most and doesn't work. I test other apps other configurations and all work good. Here is an image of the problem.
