"Initial indexing of your photos may take some time. The ‘No People Found Yet’ message is displayed when Lightroom is still analyzing all your photos to find people or when there aren't any people in your photos. On a side note, this analysis takes place on Adobe’s servers and not on your local computer. You can use your computer and close Lightroom CC without extending the time to complete the analysis. Thank you for your patience.“
@Deleted User: After 21 days, finally have my People view populated. Only skimmed but seems pretty complete and even does a good job on matching people in super out of focus film scans from decades ago!
Same problem here. I’ve uploaded 62,000 photos, 250GB out of 1TB available, and it has been approx 8 days and still nothing in the people section. I really just want to know it’s working ok, even if it will take a little while to finish indexing??
Update: After 2-3 weeks, I now have some people identified. I've uploaded around 117,000 photos (approx 600GB) and it has identified some people and seems to be increasing slowly each day? Eg. At this stage it's found around 80 photos of my daughter, when there would be thousands of photos of her in total - but it seems to be slowly working through the Albums and increasing each day?
I’ve been setup for over a month too. I’ve got a small number of people identified, but it’s very very slow progress. Eg: I have an album with photos of my daughter that has over 3000 photos - so far Lightroom has found 110 photos of her. That’s pretty representative of how it’s going. I’d say it’s analysed about 3% of my photos, but it’s very hard to tell because you aren’t given any stats to know?. And it hasn’t progressed at all in the last few days.
I have have been waiting for over a month. Still not one face identified. 225GB of 1T used. No faces. Support says it is a bug and their techs are working on it. They do not seem to be on the same page as Rick Flohr on this,
Raj Kishore Tripathi : Lance, as I check from my resources currently there is no update for this our team working on this so I request you to wait once we will get any update we will get back to you.
I agree as well. I have waited TWO MONTHS, and still not one person is placed in the folder. The silence on the part of Adobe is very disturbing. Such a reputable company but on this, nothing but frustration. Christmas is coming: How about a little something to cheer us up!
@Deleted User - I only have a small portion of my photos imported in and have seen no face detection yet. I REALLY like what LR can do for my photo library, so hopefully you guys can come up with a fix for it...
I installed Lightroom CC on my Win10 laptop on 11/9 and imported about 30GB of photos. I still don't have any faces detected and my People view is empty.
I installed Lightroom CC on my Win10 laptop on 18/1 and imported just 6 test photos with faces. I still don't have any faces detected and my People view is empty.
very sad 😞
Have you checked those 6 photos using the Keywords panel to see if any unnamed faces are showing? The People view only shows a cluster of unnamed faces when there are at least 5 instances of the same face. With only 6 photos with faces it may be that there isn't a least one face which occurs in at least 5 of those 6 photos?
My people view does not sync between mobile and desktop Classic or new Coke in my experience. As a Classic user, I have 5 years of people tags that I'd rather not retag so they are accessible by mobile. I would appreciate the syncing of Classic's people view with the cloud versions.
There is no such "system processing" messaging in the Lightroom Classic version of the software. This is extremely frustrating. For more than two years, I have been asking for a help file explaining what the expectations are, such as, when I tag someone new, will the system go back through photos in the database and "suggest" that new name to older photos? If so, how do I know when it's done doing that? How does one know if it's working at all?
I have replied to threads where Senior Data Scientists were contributing and have not had any reply to my queries.
Sorry, the search feature brought these threads up when I searched Lightroom Classic... And it would be great that if you have a feature that has been requested repeatedly in CC for someone to let us know if and when we might expect it in Classic.
