Federated (Corporate and Education) Licenses can download and install Lightroom Desktop. However, Services need to be enabled on your license in order to use the product.

Lightroom Desktop relies on storing your catalog as well as your images in the cloud. If your license does not allow for Cloud Services, you will not be able to add photos to your Lightroom catalog and the option will be grayed-out.

If this is the case, you can contact your Adobe License Administrator and ask them if:

Check in the Creative Cloud app that you are still signed in to your Adobe account. If you are, try signing out and back in again.

Hi, I'm having trouble adding a photo in Lightroom - all after an update. I have been using the personal plan for 4 years for all applications. After updating the app, the "Add Photo" button is gray and there are no photos. Interestingly after logging into Lightroom on my phone through the same email address everything works.

I changed my subscription plan from student plan to a training gift card in last month. However, after doing so, my Lightroom Desktop disable me from editing. I have tried restarting the software, logging out and in my account, removing and re-installing the software. But Lightroom still claim that my subscription has ended.

This problem has troubled me for over a month and my work was affected also... I hope there will be a solution soon...

You will need to go to account.adobe.com and sign in to see if your subscription is truly active. Is it possible you activated the gift card with a different Adobe ID?

@JosephChan  Unfortunately, the product that you purchased does not include Lightroom.  Please check with your administrator or supplier and consider a separate subscription for Lightroom only.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check again with the administrator. However, when I check my plan on the website, it said Adobe Lightroom is included in my plan. I am not sure if it is an error or what.

Lightroom Desktop will not work on the University's Mac or Windows computers - it crashes on launch with no error message.
I tried uninstalling Lightroom Desktop from my work Windows computer so that I could install a newer version which refused to update via the CC app.
Whatever I do I cannot install Lightroom Desktop; it doesn't appear in the CC app and when I try installing it via the browser I'm told it's installing.
Please acknowledge and fix these problems.

Is it a JISC thing?

Contact your universities administrator and make certain that. your license provision supports "Services".  If it does, your Admin may be able to turn it on for your license. If the university did not purchase services, Lightroom Desktop will not work and you will need to use Lightroom Classic.

we're seeing same issue... Lightroom immediately crashes after logging in, then continues to crash every time you launch it. Mac and PC, for SDL installs. All other apps launch and work from what we can tell.
