September 2026: “The Horse at the Window”by Celeste GuidiceAbout the ImageThis month I'm sharing one of my favorite barn shots — a curious horse leaning out of a Dutch door window, taking in the world outside. I love the contrast between the weathered gray shingles and his warm bay coat, and that little white blaze running down his face gives him so much personality. There's something about the quiet curiosity in his eye that makes this feel like the perfect end-of-summer image to remix.Have fun with the Remix and be sure to share yours! I'll announce my favorites at the end of the month.I can't wait to see your take on it! 😄 About Me: My name is Celeste Guidice. I've been an Adobe Community Expert since 2016 and founded the Nashua Adobe User Group back in 2012. I'm a commercial photographer and Lightroom coach based in New Hampshire, and I love sharing my images with this community every month. Lightroom v9.5 Is Live! Extend Photos with Generative Expand, Refine Masks with Precision, and Edit More Smoothly The August 2026 update to Adobe Lightroom (version 9.5) introduces AI-powered photo expansion, more precise masking controls, and performance enhancements to help photographers and creators work more efficiently and stay in flow. What’s New:Lightroom (version 9.5) brings more control and flexibility to everyday creative workflows with the introduction of Generative Expand, one of the release's most significant additions. This new Firefly-powered feature lets you extend photos beyond their original borders and intelligently generate content that blends naturally with the existing image, making it easier to recover poorly framed shots, create new aspect ratios for social media and marketing formats, reconstruct missing edges, or fill transparent gaps left behind after perspective corrections. Photographers can choose between Firefly Fill & Expand, which generates multiple
Adobe is excited to receive requests for additional features you need to enhance your workflow. What can you do to increase the chances of being heard? Don't use the words "Feature Request" in your post's title. Search for and add to existing feature requests rather than creating duplicates. There is no advantage to creating a second request for any existing feature request. One request per thread! When creating an Idea or Feature Request thread, please keep requests for features to ONE request per thread. Doing this will allow others to vote on a single, specific feature and not confuse Upvotes amongst a list of feature requests. If an Idea thread has multiple requests in it, a moderator may ask you to split the multiple requests up into multiple threads so others can vote. In the event there remain multiple requests on a thread, the first item requested will be the arbiter of where the thread will be cross-referenced or merged. Describe how the feature will help your workflow. Des
Hi everyone,I'm interested in learning how people manage their Lightroom libraries when working across multiple devices.I work in medical billing, so I'm usually dealing with documents and computer-based work during the day, but photography is one of the hobbies I use to relax after work. I'm starting to use Lightroom more seriously and like the idea of having photos available across desktop and mobile. For those using the cloud-based Lightroom ecosystem:How do you organize a large photo library? Do you rely mainly on albums, folders, or search? How do you manage cloud storage when your library keeps growing? Do you keep additional local backups of your original photos? What workflow works best when editing photos from both a computer and phone?I'd especially appreciate advice from users who have been using Lightroom cloud storage for a large collection for several years. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Insane experience with Lightroom mobile--all edits disappeared!I just used Lightroom mobile for first time to edit a photo that was synced from Lightroom Classic (desktop), where I'd originally done initial edits, and then continued editing in mobile. After successfully exporting to an image on my mobile device, I went back to Lightroom Mobile and found all the edits I'd done in Lightroom mobile disappeared! All light, color, details and masks -- poof, gone! How is this possible? Perhaps relevant: before the edits disappeared, I got some strange message saying something like "file missing from iMac" (which made no sense, because the file is certainly there). I clicked "Cancel"--or whatever option there was to just dismiss the message--and figured it was just a temporary syncing glitch or something. And that's when I found all the edits disappeared. I then checked Lightroom Classic on desktop, and found that the mobile version updated the file on the cloud to the ORIGINAL--und
I paid for a yearly subscription for Lightroom on my phone on Google Play. My Google Play subscriptions page says it's still active and due to end on July 31st 2026. However, Lightroom says it's expired and even in my Adobe account, it's apparently expired. Restore purchase isn't working, so I'm not sure what to do or how to fix this.I was using it not even a week ago perfectly normal. Same account, nothing has changed. It just all of a sudden removed my premium features today.
I am writing this to express my extreme frustration with the terrible performance of Lightroom (Cloud-based CC).Currently, I have about 320,000 photos stored entirely in the Adobe Cloud. My PC is equipped with 32GB of RAM, which should be more than enough to handle heavy photo editing tasks. However, the app is incredibly slow, freezes constantly, and has become completely unusable for my daily workflow.Every time I try to scroll through my grid view or open a single image for editing, the app lags heavily. It seems like the app's database and syncing algorithm are completely broken and cannot handle large-scale catalogs, despite Adobe marketing this as a professional cloud-native solution.I am paying for a premium subscription and additional cloud storage. It is unacceptable that paying customers are left with a broken, unoptimized app that ruins their productivity.Don't tell me to "upgrade my PC" or "clear the cache." My hardware is not the problem; Adobe's lack of optimization for h
I'm using Lightroom (desktop, cloud-based - not Classic) on macOS and have run into a persistent discrepancy between what Finder reports for my Lightroom Library.lrlibrary package and what the Cache preferences screen shows.Current numbers:Finder reports the package at 54.81GBPreferences > Cache shows only 22.2GB total (App & user data: 21.8GB, Photo cache: 0.4GB)That leaves roughly 32GB unaccounted forWhat I've already tried, with the effect on the Finder size:Clicked Clear Cache: package dropped from ~90GB to 55.64GB (Photo cache went from 32.1GB to 0.4GB, so this part behaved as expected) Emptied 6,977 images from the Deleted folder: package dropped from 55.64GB to 54.81GB (only ~0.83GB, far less than I expected given the number of images) Lowered the Cache size limit from 110GB to 10GB: App & user data barely moved (22.6GB to 21.8GB), and the Finder size didn't changeSo the ~30GB gap has stayed constant through all of these steps. Neither Photo cache adjustments nor clea
Simply running Ai Denoise introduces artifacts into the files periodically - doesn’t happen all the time and not in all files. The artifacts go away when Ai Denoise unselected. Sometimes if I shut down LRc and restart (and sometimes reboot laptop) the artifacts do not appear in the same file when Ai Denoise selected. See artifacts in upper middle and right of frame.
If I create a preset on Lr Desktop with something like, say, ‘refine saturation’ in the curves tool, and I want apply that to an image when using Lr Mobile (iPad) which doesn’t have that specific feature, will that edit be applied properly? The flow would look something like:create preset on my desktop that utilizes refine saturation, the preset syncs to the cloud months later I’m traveling with only my ipad I load images to Lr on my ipad Open an image and apply the preset

The ability to select drag and drop pictures into your preferred order. So when they are exported they come out in the preferred order. Or just to group certain pictures together.
I updated Lightroom today to version 9. I go to edit a black and white negative, and the curve information is gone! It's just a gray mess with no information. I figure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what, so any help is appreciated. I'm looking for the graph (?) where I could adjust the white and black points in the curve--there would be a bunch of lines that look like a mountain. Sorry for the low-tech explanation. Thanks!
The ios lightroom camera shortcut only sometimes opens the camera in lightroom, other times it only opens the lightroom app, but than I can’t even open the camera from the app itself. Closing and reopening doesn’t fix it either. Latest ios version.
I’m on Adobe Lightroom app (not classic) on Macbook Pro M5 and running the latest version.I was editing photos, copied edits from one photo, and pasted it onto maybe 10 photos. Lightroom crashed, and now if I open Lightroom and view those photos, it crashes Lightroom. It does this non-stop now for days.
After first launching Lightroom, we can enter Crop mode by pressing "C" key. Then we can do our cropping, then confirm it (as we confirm everything on a computer) by pressing Enter. But after using LIghtroom for a while (sorry that's fuzzy), Enter stops working to confirm the crop. We can stil confirm the crop by pressing the "C" key again, but for some reason Enter stops working until Lightroom is quit and restarted. The amount of time LR has to run before Enter stops working for crop confirmation is not known - sometimes it's day, other times (like this evening) it seems to stop working minutes after launch. Something must be triggering the failure but I don't know what. I know this sounds minor, but Enter is so ingrained as the "do it now" key since the beginning of computing that this one always throws me. This bug has existed for the five years I've been using LR, and has persisted across all of the updates in that time. Just getting around to repo
Lr version 8.1 on mac ventura. How do i unstack image display.
I received an email saying my photos and presets will be deleted if I don't subscribe. I've been using the free version of Lightroom mobile for a long time, I don't understand why everything will be deleted? Shouldn't I be able to keep my photos and presets and still not have access to the premium features?
Severe lag, CPU spikes, and sustained heavy disk writes while editing (Lightroom 9.5.1, macOS, Apple Silicon)App version: Adobe Lightroom (cloud) 9.5.1OS: macOS 26.6.2 (Build 25G83)Hardware: MacBook Pro, Mac15,6, 18 GB RAM, Apple SiliconSymptoms:After just a few minutes of ordinary RAW editing (Leica DNG files), Lightroom becomes severely laggy. Sliders stop responding smoothly, preset previews don't render, and the system heats up with fans at full speed. This isn't tied to any heavy feature like Denoise or masking, it happens on basic actions.Measured evidence:- Lightroom's own CPU usage has been observed as high as 341% and 574% (Activity Monitor), with GPU usage spiking to 40%+ during simple actions like dragging one slider or switching to a new photo.- macOS generated an automatic disk-writes resource-violation report during one editing session: Lightroom dirtied 2,147.67 MB of file-backed memory over 2,123 seconds, an average of 1,011.51 KB/sec, against the system's expected limi
