Sorry for the late reply, Dave. calibrite-camera-calibration-software.jpgI'm not sure how to check if my custom icc profiles are v2 or v4. They were created with the X-Rite (now Calibrite) ColorChecker Camera Calibration software.

Weel the BETA versions of Photoshop is fixed, but version 25.3.1 still won't recognize many of my profiles. I sure hope Adobe can get this fixed soon. It was fine until the last two updates.

Right, that's fine is you like Beta, but if you don't like me, there's still a problem with 25

If I change the color settings to use the Apple CMM color engine the problem goes away, so the person who said that this is due to Adobe (ACE) is correct but oddly enough it's only broken in PS24

Hi,

I’m getting this message every time I click open on Camera Raw 16.1:

"The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile is invalid.  Ignoring the profile."

None of the files I’m working on is corrupt

I'm using Photoshop 2024 on a iMac, macOS Sonoma, Version 14.2.1

Please let me know.

Many thanks!

Best regards,

Ricardo

Just created a profile for some paper with CC Studio (formerly Xrite) and the error popped up"could not print profile invalid" when trying to print using newly created profile (version 2 ICC profile). So NOT fixed for me.

I had no such problem on MacOS 14.4.1 and previous version of photoshop--I think 2022?  Until I updated last weekend to PS 25.6.0 and now cannot see a rhyme or reason as to why two images shot virtually at the same time--10 frames apart, same subject--end up with one giving the error as in the original post of this thread, and PS opens it as a black and white image (!)--and the other one opens fine.

Nikon D500 images shot raw opened as .NEF files from Bridge.

Bug is still here.

Meanwhile I will need to get help to back up to PS 22.

Today I was able to get support from Adobe and the problem did not recur on demand as anticipated.  I'd not wanted to open any images with Bridge > ACR > Photoshop in case of damage to the NEF files.  But after at least one reboot of the computer, it did not happen again.   So strange.  But fixed.
