@CoryShubert Window10, Window11 It happened to both happened.
Also, even if I created a new action myself in 24.3 and ran it, it didn't work.
Maybe the save command written to the action doesn't work at 24.3.
24.2.1 is fine.

After updating to V24.3.0, my action "Merge Visible and Save" no longer works. The action is very simple. It has two steps: Merge Visible Layers and Save File. The merge part works, but the Save File does not. I get an error message "Could not complete the comand because of a program error" and the action stops. I have tried redoing the action and the same error shows.

I use a PC with the latest updates to the OS.

Adding a "Me TOO!!!" for 24.3 (most recent upgrade).

Actions that have worked for years that save files are now failing with the error message:

"Could not complete the command because of a program error".

Narrowed this down to the "save" statement in the action.

I created a new, dummy action that duplicates a layer, then attempts to save.

boom!

[EDIT]:  Just reverted to previous version 24.2.1, and file saving via actions works as expected.

How could a bug this obvious have still allowed the update to be released?

I hope this will be fixed as a hotfix in the next 24.4.

In PS 24.3.0 i get a "could not complete the command because og a program error" when using a custom action. The action opens a linked tiff file, does a couple of tweaks, saves the file and closes the file. The action runs untill the save where the error is displayed. The exact same action worked in the previous version of Photoshop. A workaround is to delete the save action and keep the close action. But the I'm prompted with tiff options before it closes

We are definitely finding this interferes with our procedure for switching between Photoshop projects.

Always receiving "Could not complete the Command because of a program error."

Is there a way to "upvote" the bugs so that these are more visible to Adobe?

Yes, scroll up to the top of the thread. To the left of the subject is a number ("15" as of now) with triangle on top. It used to say "Upvote", but Adobe thinks this is clearer. 😊

I am currently using Photoshop 24.3 (current version) and I get an error message, "Could not complete command because of program error" when using a "Save As" action. I've been using this action for quite a while with no problems. I have uninstalled 24.3 and reinstalled with the same result. I reverted to the previous version of Photoshop (24.2.1) and the action works fine. It appears there is some sort of glitch in the latest version of Photoshop. If anyone has experienced this and has a solution I would appreciate your input. Thanks so much.

I am experiencing the exact same error as everyone else when running an action on Windows 11. The action was working fine before the update, and I am unable to complete my current job because of the error.

it appears to be a widespread issue. Developers are aware. Doesn't help all
of us currently not able to do our jobs in an efficient manner, but they
indicated they are aware.
