Photoshop CC crashes whenever I try to PRINT. I installed the most current version, 22.5, on 8/18/21. I've closed and restarted PS many times and did an orderly shutdown of my PC and this still occurs.

Thanks for any help!

Try holding down the Spacebar as you choose File > Print.

Hi Jane,

Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately, it still crashes. Not immediately, but after a few moments.

Hi Jane,

I’ve tried ALL the suggestions under “Resolve problems printing a specific image from Photoshop” in the attached link.

#1 – doesn’t work

#2 – The printer setup (print driver) doesn’t display before it crashes.

#3 – tried it, doesn’t work

#4 – tried it, doesn’t work

#5 – no idea what this is!

Any idea what’s next? Is this a known bug?

Thanks,

Barbara

Have you look at any of the crash reports to see it there is any information the show what modules are  causing the Photoshop to crash? Is it always the same Photoshop module crashing?

Sorry, but I'm a photographer not a programmer. I have no idea how to read card reports or identity the modules causing the crash. 😵💫

Hi there,

We're sorry for the print issue after the latest update. You may try reset Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps. Here's the article for the steps: https://adobe.ly/3ceal5t Also, back up the existing Photoshop preferences if you have any custom brushes, action and workspace: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Mohit

@Mohit GoyalI'm not sure if you noticed my comment, but still I have the same issue. Ctrl+P (or file / print) makes Photoshop crash.

Press and hold the Spacebar on your keyboard before you click File > Print. This process resets printer preferences.

If this doesn't work, try the suggestions here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-printing-problems.html

Sometimes you need to update your printer driver or uninstall/reinstall.

hi Jane,

Thanks a lot for your answer. I tried all the solutions you proposed (besides of printing on another printer because I don't have another device). But no suprise - nothing happened.

Sorry, but some "solutions" from here (https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-printing-problems.html) are ridiculous and pretty funny. I can't print ANYTHING straight from Photoshop as I mentioned and what I can see there? "Maybe your file is corrupted, try flatten image or use another format or save as new file". What more? "Try to shut down other applications / check printer memory / make more free disk space ".

I can print from Illustartor, from InDesign, from MS Paint, from everything. But not from Photoshop. And it is really annoying.

Does Photoshop crash when you Print? If not, what happens?

What is your OS and (exact) version of Photoshop?
