P: (Win) Photoshop 26.11 crashes when using color picker in color replacement

Community Beginner ,

Since a few days, Photoshop freezes each time when using image --> adjustments --> Replace color. I'm on Windows 11. I tried on the PC of someone else, and got the same issue. Anyone else encountering this problem? Any suggestions how to fix it?

Hey, @maaikev50062091 and @Stefan-71. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. Thanks for your reports and @Ged_Traynor for validating the issue and providing the workaround. Since I can recreate this behavior, I've leveled it up for the team to look into.

Thanks!

Thank you for that, I'll avoid using it and wait for Adobe to fix and update us all.

@james_8179 you don't need to avoid using it, just disable this option in the preferences and restart Photoshop

I had an issue with color replacement tool after updating to the newest version of Photoshop. There was an offered fix that did work. However, now the new Photoshop freezes at update brushes when I attempt to open it. The only way for me to use the program is to reboot my computer. I have just reverted back to the earlier version. I will update again when Adobe comes out with a new update. Hopefully it will be better than their most recent try.

SAME HERE!! This is so frustrating. Crashing all the time!

Same with InDesign: if I try to replace a character style's color. I'm going to revert to older version

I tried every fix I could find on the web.  If they worked it was tempory or else a new issue came up. I reverted back as it still works fine. As I had mentioned in a previous message I will wait until a new update comes out before trying again.
