It is really weird that, you all will be surprised to know that, a government website is asking me to upload a BMP file which is created and not converted to BMP file. On the website of the government, next to the upload button it says - Do not upload a converted file ( I ignored this instruction and converted my photo from jpg to bmp but was not able to upload, the error messaged said - It is not an authentic bmp file, do not convert file to bmp ) I have been looking on the Internet to create a BMP file of my photo but no luck yet. Can I send the jpg file which is my photo and then anyone of you convert it to bmp file using Adobe Photoshop, will that work, I have to try it. Please help

We're waiting for you to tell us which Adobe app you are using. Are you using Photoshop?
If so, Save As BMP may not appear unless you go to Preferences and check Enable legacy "Save As".

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hey! How are you all?
A government website is asking to upload signature and photo in (.bmp) format with other requirements which are, size 128KB and scan in 24 Bitmap image with up to 500 pixels (see the attachment named - Requirements of the file before the attachment)
Both my files, signature and photo, are well within the limit, they are .bmp files and even pixels are inside the limit but still I am getting the error (see the attachment named - Error after clicking on upload button)
I think the issue is with the scan in 24 Bitmap image - I don't know what that means, please help

Please answer this question, which you have been asked several times in this thread.
Which exact Adobe application (name and version) are you using to convert to bmp?
If it is Photoshop, don't convert to bmp in the Image menu as that would require conversion first to greyscale. Instead open your document and make sure it is in RGB 8 bits /channel (from the Image menu). Then use Save As and select bmp in the file format. A dialogue will open with the bit depth from which you can choose 24 bit. Then click OK to save it.

@Surendra Bedsa You said 'Have not used Adobe Photoshop.'
This is an Adobe community and this particular forum is for advice on Photoshop. You have been advised how to create the bmp in Photoshop.
You have still not said what you are using, we can't help you further without such information. If it is not Adobe software then I suggest asking in whatever community exists for the application that you are using.
Good luck.

your post is in the photoshop forum where i moved it. you appear to be unaware of which app to use to create your BMP, so rather than argue about that, i made the decission that using photoshop would be the quickest way to solve your problem, https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/create-bmp-file/m-p/14991822#M839804
if you've never opened photoshop, open it.
open your bitmap in photoshop, or create something on photoshop's stage and then use file > save as > save as copy and select BMP
save the file locally where you can find it easily. then upload it.

Hello Sir @davescm @kglad I appreciate your questions but the thing is that the error message says this - Kindly scan and upload Signature of Employee in .BMP format only i.e in 24 BITMAP Image only. Do not convert image properties into .bmp format
From the error message I feel that the bmp file has to be created.
I used paint to convert the file from jpg to bmp (did not answer that question because I felt bmp file has to be created and not converted)
Answers
1. Yes I have Adobe subscription

Read the signature requirement and the photo requirement, it says that both the files should be only in bmp format Requirement number 3 and 4 can be any format
Sign and photo were auto created in jpg, then I converted the two files to bmp files using paint, but still even after being bmp files, the two files are not getting uploaded into the website

Adobe does not have a plan called "Adobe subscription". What is the exact name of your plan?
If you want to use Photoshop to convert your files, the first step is to have subscription that includes Photoshop. The second step is to install Photoshop. The third step is to use Photoshop and follow the directions you were given earlier in this thread.
Questions about Microsoft Paint need to go to the Microsoft forums.

Since you do not have Photoshop installed, we cannot assist. I think it's time for a moderator to lock this thread.
