Another option is to asign a shortcut for the CTB. I use F3 to toggle the CTB on and off.
Myra's suggestion to Hide the CTB is a good one because you can park it out of the way. You should have enough room on the Options Bar to the left of the hated Share button

Haha, Ged,
I've changed to neutral colors, but I forget how you hacked the magician's disappearing act!

@jane-e it's just amending the UIColor text file for the share button, I just set them to the same color as the color theme, in my case it is 50, 50, 50, 1.0 for each one, location of the text file C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Required

Oh, that's a good idea of where to place it if you don't actually want to hide it. I might keep it there. 🙂

Isn't the problem with the thing that it doesn't stay where you park it? It just pops up right in the middle of the image next time, as if nothing happened?
I wouldn't know, I killed it and don't intend to exhume it ever again...

You can move the Contextual task bar so that it's over the Options bar, press the 3 dots on the right, and select Pin bar position to make it stay there. When it's pinned, then it'll stay there until you unpin it.

Unless there's been an update that I'm unaware of, it only stays pinned for the current session, then needs to be pinned again. Mine is off, so things could have changed.

@jane-e there was an update, I think the one after the contextual task bar was introduced or maybe later that pinned the contextual task bar to the location for all sessions

So it stays put now? OK, that makes it fractionally more useful. But not so much that I'll consider enabling it again 😉

Thanks Ged, 😊 that's good to know, but I still don't see much use for it.
