I just purchased a new computer and it doesnt have a CD disc for me to download my copy of CS6 which I also have a key for, so I copied the entire PS CS6 file from the adobe folder off my old computer, and when I added it to the new computer it will not open. Can I get some help please.
1)Perhaps the most current download link for CS6.that will work and open
I tried the link for my key here at adobe site, but that link is broken and does not work
2)Another option I was considering is to buy an external CD Disc player, will I run into the same issue once its downloaded onto my computer of not opening?
Thank you for your assistance !!

Wow I missed the part where you said "That being said, there's been a rumour that the old CS6 activation servers are also now deactivated"
Have other who perhaps ran into the same issue been successful getting there copy of CS6 accitivated after the rumors of deactivativating the survers..
From my own experience with support, I was told they could not help me in any way, I even asked to be kicked up to the next level of support and was told there was nothing can can do for me from that level.

How was it installed on your old computer? From a CD, or via download? If from a CD, an external player ought to work. If from download, see if you still have the installation files somewhere on your old computer. You should be able to install from those.
You can't just copy the Photoshop program files over; it has to actually be installed on the new machine.

Had an idea, can I down load CS6 from my disc using my old computers CD drive ,and copy it onto a thumb drive and then upload that to the new computer

If they are the installation files, that should work.
My version of CS6 was one of the bundles, so the files wouldn't be the same, but mine end in LS16, if that's any help.

You can either buy a DVD/CD player and try it. Check the return policy if you have trouble installing/running CS6 on the new OS.
Another option is to find a computer with a disc drive, convert the CD to an ISO file to run as a virtual drive, copy the ISO file to your new system, and try installing it from the file.

BTW, if you are on a Mac, I believe the Disc FirstAid can make a virtual disc.

I just wish I could get my exiting copy of CS6 off my old computer. To think of all the work that going to be involved to reinstall plugins, extensions, brushes and fonts even if I am able to get a copy of CS6 to function on my new computer.
Is there any way to clone it ?

Clones are usually for the entire drive. You could try to find all the installation locations, but even then, I'm not sure if it would work. Programs intentionally install critical parts of the software in various parts of the drive to make it difficult for someone to (illegally) copy the software when you are not at your computer.

Depending on your system, Adobe installs parts of the program all over the place (out of necessity), not just in the actual program's folder, so a mere copy will not work, and the more buried folders are more connected to the System than others, so may not work on a new one.
Even if you successfully found all the bits, the one thing that won't carry over is the activation. That tends to be stored in a "very secret place" that is tied to the machine. Once moved to a different machine, you would require reactivation.

No.
The program files is one thing. The Windows registry is another. Without the correct registry keys to make it all come alive, the program files are just dead meat.

If you had registered your previous install, your CS6 will show up in your adobe account under Plans and Payments > Products, with both a link to a CS6 installer disk image and your serial number in case you have misplaced it.
If you did NOT register your CS6 back then, you have the opportunity to enter your existing serial on the same page, but, of course, it has to be a legitimate serial that belongs to you.
That being said, there's been a rumour that the old CS6 activation servers are also now deactivated, so you may still have to contact Adobe to activate no matter how you install the software. You may need an activation count reset if you are over your limit (e.g. if didn't deactivate a previous install)

Thanks for the response Brad, been down that road, went to all my managed accounts on Adobe and there was a download for my registered PS CS6 . Here likes the problem with that, it's only 32bit not 64bit and the download link does not work. Spoke with support, they gave me the same instructions you did, and I told them exactaly what I said above, They said they could not help me then as its no longer supported . Suggested I start subscribing to the latest PS version.
I have a bunch of Topaz legacy programs, and they are all in my managed account and aavailable for download which on a occasion I have downloaded . They are no longer supported, but they are there for me if I want them. Yet my registered PS6 with Adobe that I bought and paid for in my manged account which is there is non downloadedable The link has been disabled and the kicker is it was only 32bit.
Adobe makes you jump through hoops (makes it difficult as possible) to use something you bought. There is absolutely no reason to disable your download link, its up to the owner of the software if they choose to use it regardless if its supoorted or not. My non longer supported CS6 works just fine on my old computer, and if ever an issue arrise it's on me to resolve it or no longer use it.
We all understand Adobe's business practice which is to sell there current product which is really renting it. .

As for the activation servers for CS6 been shutdown, I haven't come across any reference to that, although I could be wrong.
Activation servers for CS2 and CS3 have been shutdown and recently for CS4 as well, I'd imagine Adobe would shutdown the activation servers for CS5 first at some point in the future and then CS6
@Jeffrey_A_Wright should be able to confirm if in fact the CS6 activation servers have been shutdown

I had heard that from someone else on another site, so I decided after I posted my response above, for sh*ts and giggles, to try to reinstall CS6 on an old laptop. Result: the online activation "failed to connect" on several tries, but the offline activation method worked fine. Updates downloaded and installed fine as well.

"Brad are you talking about the offline method Ted linked to?"
The only link I saw is the protools site for downloading installers.
In any case: The offline method is presented to you when you try to activate your newly installed app by entering your serial and it fails to connect/activate. There's a link in that dialog box that links to the Offline method (something like "Try another method" or "cannot connect" - I forget exactly), This brings up a dialog which requires you to enter both your serial and a Request Code that it generates. You them submit that and, if it goes alright, presents you with a Response Code, which you then enter, and voila! This worked for me last night.

Yes, I did this exact procedure last night. That being said, I am on a Mac and the machine I installed on was definitely within the machine specs for CS6, so I don't know how different it is for your Windows and whether your new machine can even run CS6 apps.

Thanks again Brad for your follow up.... I just want to report I was able to download succesfully PSCS6 following Teds link he supplied earlier. It did in fact as me for my serial #
Honestly if it wasn't for everyone here on the community support forum, I would have not been able to acheive this Thank you to all that shined in. Hopefully this will also help other's with the same dilema
I think I saw during the down load that Adobe Camera Raw was only 7, and I think the latest you can have with CS6 is 9 1.1. or 11 something like that, Any way to get the latest version of adobe camera raw, as the link does not seem to be working where I was able to get the link for PSCS6

It would certainly be nice to know on an official level. i.e. was my "failed to connect" thing due to a permanent shutdown of the server, or it crashed over the holidays, and noone's noticed yet. 😉
Of course, I don't need mine, but it would be nice to advise people realistically who are trying to do so.

Just want to make you aware that the link https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html you supplied worked for me to download CS6
However when I went to down load Adobe Camera Raw 9.1.1 for Windows in Endlish it would not download
Tried it using Chrome and Edge
Would you have another link for Adobe Camera Raw 9.1.1 ?
It's important to read and follow the instructions for downloads which I followed
Thank you Ged
