P: Ability to Liquify on mobile

It may not be feasible (at least for now) to add Liquify to Photoshop on the iPad, but how about Transform> Warp as a workaround?  (Being able to manipulate an image using Liquify — or Warp — is a basic image editing feature.)

Hello, I have a new ipad and I just downloaded photoshop but my liquefy tool is greyed out. I saw that there was an update and that iPads should now be able to edit with the liquefy tool, but I can't seem to figure out how to add it. Could anyone help?

Liquify was not available for iPad at first. It is now available. Make sure you have the latest version.

Check to see what version you have using the cog in the upper right. Update in the App Store if needed. Then look in Filters in the right hand panel.

EDIT: I just read your post again and you said it is grayed out. Select a layer first!

Sorry, I mispoke. Liquify was supposed to have been added but now it is in the 'What's coming' section.

Are you the same person with two logins or two people?

Yes, Liquify is available on iPad now.

Select a layer first, as Liquify will be grayed out if you don't.

Then tap Filters and Adjustments > Liquify.

If you don't see Liquify at all, click the cog in the upper right and tell us your version.

yes I'm the same person. I have version 4.8. I tried selecting a new layer but it still shows it greyed out. That's why I'm so confused

Show a screenshot of your Layers panel. You may not be on the right kind of layer.

What can you tell us about the selected layer? Is it just gray lines or something else? If you unclip it, can you use Liquify?

 

It's something with that layer. Can you try another layer or image to let us know if Liquify works at all? If it does, we'll move on to why doesn't it work on this layer.

@andrea31514762mgpn Are you trying to use liquify filter on RGB file layer? If not can you please provide the file type , layer type & file dimension which will help us to know the issue.

@andrea31514762mgpn Currently there are some limitations of the Liquify filter on iPad.

Liquify is disabled for:

Text layer, Smart object, Grey Scale, Lab Color,CMYK, Layers size more than 8192 X 8192 pixels & Mask

Are you using liquify other than above mentioned list ?

Just to know more on the issue can you please try creating or opening an RGB file which is < 8192 X 8192 pixels & check if the Liquify tool is enabled or not?
