infinite loop trying to sign in to Photoshop Elements Editor 2020

I've been using Photoshop Elements 2020 and recently got a new  computer. Organizer works fine, but when I try to open the Editor, it asks me to sign in. I enter my Adobe login and password, and it asks me to sign in . . . I tried changing the password, same result. I can't get past the sign-in page although I'm entering the correct login and new password.
