Keyboard shortcuts in Trim Mode not working

On macOS it is possible to use the alt+left/right arrow keys in the program monitor in trim mode. On Windows Strg+left/right arrow key works just in the timeline panel but not if the program monitor is in focus. So you have to switch back and forth between the timeline and the program monitor panel to trim frame by frame with shortcuts.

I use Premiere Pro release 23.1. (german version) on Mac and Windows and I tested this on multiple laptops (all Windows 10, german os).

Steps to reproduce:

- Use Premiere Pro on Windows (German version) and open Trim Mode

- Use Strg+left/right arrow keys (works in the timeline)

- Activate the Program Monitor and use Strg+left/right arrow key again (shortcuts are not working)

Would be great to have this working as it does on macOS.

Hello @Sven Brencher and @kylegilman,

Thank you for contributing to the issue at hand. I have moved this Discussion to the Bugs forum so our engineering team can examine it.

We need Trim Mode to work as expected for all craft editors.

Take Care,
Kevin

Hy Kevin,

yes it's still an issue with the newest Premiere Pro Version on Windows.

Best regards

Sven

I'm having the same problem in Premiere Pro 24.3.0 on Windows (US-English version). I can use trim forward and backward keyboard shortcuts if the Timeline window has focus, but not if the Program window has focus.

I figured out that by default the Program panel has a keyboard shortcut assigned to Ctrl+left and Ctrl+right to nudge selected objects right or left rather than trim backward or forward, which overrides the Application shortcuts. There are no clips selected when you're in trim mode, so it appears that nothing is happening. I removed those shortcuts and now trim mode keyboard shortcuts work regardless of which panel is selected.
