P: Premiere Pro V23.2.0 Frustrating Button Lag in Multicam Edit - Macbook Pro M1 Max & Studio Max

I have just started on a Multicam Edit on my new Apple M1 Max chip 32gb Ram Macbook Pro, and there is a terrible lag between selecting a camera on the keyboard and the edit action happening. This means that every edit is out by about half a second. This something my old 2015 Macbook never had an issue with. Of course I can go back through the whole thing and adjust each cut but this is a 80 min long film and the extra workload is so disappointing given these are supposed to be top notch machines!

I also have also tried to edit the same project on a Studio M1 Max and the issue is even worse on this machine. The machine gets stuck with the spinning wheel of death if you scrub forwards/backwards at speed...nightmare

The multi cam is three 1080HD H.264 video files and are stored on the same machine. Nothing fancy.

Any suggestions?

I've heard rumours that this will be fixed in 23.3. Before that I use 23.1

Same here, 

multicam playback won´t stop. Sometimes it does at the end of the clips, sometimes the window gets white and Premiere freezes.

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X

RAM: 64 GB

M2s: Samsung 970 (OS, Premiere) & Kingston SKC2500 (Video)

GPU: RTX 3070 with 528.24 Studio Driver

OS: Win10

4k50 h264 from GH5 and DVX200. Just one clip each, under 10mins duration.

Sequence Settings accordingly.

(Render and Replace to DNxHR match source will result in same issues)

Update guys 23.1 is whack too same thing started happenineg. So far version 23.0 works great.

Adobe stop messing with stuff, leave it alone.

This is an issue clearly hitting some select group of users but not most others. It crosses Pc/Mac barrier with ease. And I can't see any clear way to predict who gets hit.

If you're getting it, you're hammered pretty bad. That's also clear. And though I wish I had some usable or helpful advice, I can't figure frick out about this.

So I sure hope the devs get this sorted out soon.

Having exactly the same issues as everyone in this thread, glad to know I'm not the only one.  I edit multicam setups frequently for work, and this issue isnow impeding my ability to do my job.  Adobe needs to fix this issue ASAP.

so apparently 23.1 can have the issue too, ADOBE can you fix this feature that worked for year on shittier computer ???

Having big multicam playback issues in PP 23.2 (Windows).  After a minute or so of scrolling in the timeline, the spacebar stops working and the sequence won't stop playing.  If I disable the multicam function, no problems.

Même probléme!! Et ça fait des mois que ça dure... C'est scandaleux de payer plus de 700 euros par mois pour des bugs aussi stupide!!!! Nous travaillons tres souvent à flux tendu et ce genre de bug impactant des outils aussi basique que le multicamera est extrémement préjudiciable pour notre flux de production. Ajouter des options pour une minorité d'utilisateur ne sert à rien si les fonctions de bases ne sont pas fiable!!!! A défaut de savoir régler le probleme dans un delai raisonnable, un geste commercial serais le bienvenue... Vous avez tendance à oublier que payer un abonnement c'est pour garantir une fiabilité vital pour nos entreprise et donc pour se rémunerer. Travailler sur des versions entérieurs et trés facile sans payer. A bon entendeur.

Same problem.  Unfortunately, the rollback brings back other issues. I guess I'll have to go with the lesser of two annoyances.  A fix for the new version would be greatly appreciated.

Roll it back to 23.0.0. Works perfectly on several pcs.

I just installed the new update (23.3) and multicam playback is significantly better.  Haven't been able to test it very long, but I would give it a try.  I was previously having major issues with runaway CTI during multicam editing when trying to speed up a little, and it now feels a lot more responsive.

Installed 23.3 this morning. Got a multicam edit job next weekend. We'll see how it goes 🙂 Fingers crossed!

I have been working on 23.3 all day and have not had any problem with multicam editing. So it seems that they fixed it..With 23.2 it took about

2-3 hour with constantly multicam editing before it  all startes getting slow, today I worked for 7 hour and everything working fine..

As another user here, thanks to all who have posted that the 23.3 update is fixing their multicam issues. It's always useful if those who've posted with a problem post updates when it's fixed for them.

If anyone is still having multicam problems, please post those also!

I upgraded to 23.3 today and sat 7 hour with multicam editing, no problems. So it seems that they fixed it

For me, Version 23.0 is also laggy during MultiCam editing. Had to rollback to 22.6.4. (using macOS big sur-11.5.2)

Same issue. I have to minimize the project to get it to stop. Working on a Windows 10 Machine with two monitors. Premiere is on one monitor.
