speed reverse makes field order artifacts

Hi Adobe,

 

this issue is still going on after two years now. Every single time i am reversin video clip i need to make after effects composition to fix the bug. It happening when having progressive footage and working on interlaced sequence.

 Two times i got tv show rejected because of that issue, qc reported wrong field order.

Thanks for the message.  That sounds super annoying.  Can you give me more context on how you apply the reverse?  Are you also changing the field order on top of that?  What type of footage are you working with?   Which version of Premiere are you using?  Please give the team a few more details. Please see: How do I report a Problem?

Hi Rach,

in Speed/duration setings,

i am editing in XDCAM HD422 interlaced sequence, render is also in XDCAM HD422 upper field.

 

It is software based issue not hardware, i tried the same on 4 workstations with differents hardware. Also this issue is still on after few years, not just at the latest version of PP.

 

this is also happening for 422 10bit hevc footage. For others i don't know

 

When i am working with interlaced footage there is no issue.

 

I am pro user of PP for 15 years now and i can confirm this issue wasn't present 3 years ago.
