The timeline isn't working

Every time I open a project and play a video to edit, the timeline doesn't move while the video is playing. When it does move, it lags, skipping frames. This didn't happen before the last Adobe update. After working for several hours, it resolves itself and works normally.

Can you help me fix this bug?

I'm attaching a video of the issue.

When adding a video please use a video capture program instead of your phone. We like to see the entire UI.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: Version 24.6.3 (Build 4)
  • Operating system – Windows 10 pro
  • System Info: CPU, GPU, RAM, HD:
    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
    • GPU RTX 2070 Super
    • RAM: 32 GB
    • Hard Drive: 2 TB SSD M.2 - 4 TB HHD
  • Video format: .MP4
  • Workflow details: Its a video recorded with OBS, but this happen with every video that I add in Premiere
  • Steps to reproduce - (Very important!)
  1. Open Premiere.
  2. New Project > create
  3. I move the video to the Project
  4. I pass the video to the timeline

Expected result - What should have happened after the last step?

I press the space key for preview and it doesn’t Works, it moves with lag

Actual result -  What did happen after the previous step?  Nothing, it moves with lag

Hi @Gerhads - You can check your audio hardware settings by going to the menu bar in Premiere Pro click the tab that says Edit, then at the bottom you will see Preferences and then go to Audio Hardware
