A low level exception occured in: adobe player (player 5)

Community Beginner ,
Apr 14, 2020 Apr 14, 2020

Hi,

I just uploaded the last version of premiere pro 2020 (V14.1).

When i open my project, my whole files are in "media pending".

I really need you to figure it out. I have to get back my project ASAP.

Do you think it could come from that last upload?

Best regards.

Sorry for the wait, but Premiere Pro 14.2 has just shipped and contains the fix for legacy Titles with GPU Renderer.

What's new and fixed in PPro 14.2:

Unfortunatly it doesn't work.

I tried "disable then re-enable", then "add a cut", then "add an image"... in vain.

I even tried before to reinitialized "my preferences" and it doesn't work.

As i said, im pretty sure it comes from the last upload V14.1

Thank you kglad by the way.

im sorry but im sure you already know that all the things i tried came from google...

and the only thing i want when i pay 25€/month for a soft is that it works, a professionnal assistance i can join easily (not google) and ,obviously, they can treat my issues with success.

I looked on google by the way, there is no similar problem (player 5).

This is the really best solution to figure out this mess.

I rolled back too until the V14.2 (hope they will fix it).

Actually - just figured it out.   Anyhow, thanks for posting re this issue - it pointed me in the right direction. Back to 14.0.4 also, and won't upgrade until I hear 14.2 is trouble free...

Thx for your video!

The V14.0.4 is the pretty best option.

the "software only" is not. you loose to much speed for rendering, etc...but it's an option by the way.

Apologies. This is an open issue in Premiere ro 14.1 that is being worked on (the issue with legacy Titles should already be fixed in 14.2 Beta). https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/known-issues.html Until then, a possible workaround is to use Software Rendering (File menu > Project Settings > General > Video Rendering and Playback > Mercury Playback Engine Software Only).

Other possible workarounds include using Essential Graphics (the current Titler in Premiere Pro) or using 14.2 Beta (if you feel comfortable working in Beta version) or you can always go to Creative Cloud and install 14.0.4 if you wish to use GPU in a shipping version with the legacy Titler.

Hi Trent, thanks for this, as the workaround apparently gets it rolling for now. However now the legacy title is not working anymore again! (Why I clicked the update in the first place). The title tool won't respond really to any changes I make to the titles. Some advice for what to do here would be much appreciated.

You have switched to Software Only Renderer and now the legacy Titler does not work? That is not something we have seen. You could try saving your Project (still set to Software Only Renderer), Quit, then hold down Alt/Opt + Shift keys while launching Premere Pro. Click OK to reset your plugin cache and preferences. Does it now work?

If it does not, I would receommend contacting our support staff to help troubleshoot your issue. You can go to https://helpx.adobe.com/support/premiere-pro.html and there is a Contact Us link towards the bottom.

Another option may be to go back to Premiere Pro 14.0.4 (you can choose this in Creative cloud by clicking on ... in bottom right and choosing Other versions).

I realized that the legacy titler actually only freezes when I try to copy and paste from one title into another (annoying but workable for now) so I can just create duplicate titles. I'm on track for the time being. At least until the next update comes out to ruin me again 😉
