All my Luts are Black in Premiere 25

New Here ,
Nov 03, 2024 Nov 03, 2024

Since updating to Premier 25 all of my LUTS cause the clips and program monitor to grow black the more you increase the intensity on the LUT. The lower you bring the intensity down the image reappears. I've tried to troubleshoot and move LUTS into the so-called "common folder", but ran into issues even finding the LUT folder in there to begin with.

It seems all the posts regarding this issue are on older versions of Premier from a couple of years back. Has anybody had this issue?

Hi @benjamitiss - Premiere has a new color management system, I see that you want to use your own lut workflow, however it has changed just slightly.  Now you want to select settings in the Lumetri Panel and under source clip there will be a section labeled "Input Lut". Can you try using your lut there and then let us know if that helps.  Here is an article to read more Dramatically Updated Color Management in Premiere Pro

No ... no issues at all.

Where did those LUTs originate (what created them)? What format of LUT are they? Where do they 'live' on your computer?

@R Neil Haugen
The main ones I use are purchased from Gamut.io. Here is a screen recording to give a little more clarity https://youtu.be/0kXq16jZhWY Here are some of the Luts I am using

I can answer a couple things ... first, the Adobe/Common/LUTs location, you do normally have to add Input, Technical, and Creative folders. Premiere does look in that location on launch, and will add the LUTs there to their respective locations list in Lumetri.

Note, only on launch. There's no refresh mechanism, so after adding any, you have to close/relaunch Premiere.

Input = Input LUT in the color management processes; Technical is the Input LUT slot in the Basic tab, Creative is the "Look" slot in the Creative tab.

That's the location I use.

Now questions ... what's your hardware, especially GPU and driver?

What are those LUTs doing to the image ... color space/range conversion, "Look", what?
