Hello,

I'm using Premiere Pro 2021 , Win 10 and when I'm playing something sometimes tracks wont play until I hit the space bar again. It happens when I have a piece looped and when it starts again a track won't play until I stop and start it again. I was not having this problem a week ago.

Any suggestions what I might be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card and your source properties and your sequence settings.  Make sure you have plenty of drive space available, at least 10 % on all drives and at least 20% on the startup drive.  It's possible your media drive is failing, every drive will fail, it's not a question of if, but when...  You might try resetting your preferences and deleting your cache.

This may be a bit over my head but let's give it a go.

The odd thing I notice, If I start the playhead outside of the in and out points it plays fine. And as mentioned, this was not happening in the 2019 Premiere Pro for me.

This stuff can get complicated, but you're dealing with an extremely complex piece of software and it's worth the trouble to dig in to this.

to find out your source properties, select a clip in the timeline and control click and choose "properties."  What kind of camera were they shot on?  the important things are pixel dimensions, pixel aspect ratio, frame rate and codec/compressor.

Your sequence settings are odd.   almost all cameras shoot 16x9 and HD is usually 1920x1080 not 1080x1080.

by any chance was this material recorded using a screen capture program?  If so, the problem is probably that it's got a variable frame rate which is problematic in Premiere.  the problems are inconsistent and unpredictable..

use mediainfo to determine whether your source is variable or constant frame rate

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

if it's variable use handbrake to convert to constant frame rate

https://handbrake.fr
and here's a tutorial on how to use handbrake

Post back if you have any questions or if any of this isn't clear.

these are animations that are formatted to some degree for Instagram and many of the elements are built in after effects, then I assemble them like a puzzle in premiere.

The audio is very tempermental but will always play fine if I start it outside the In and Out points, for some reason.
