I've put the auto save feature on Premiere Pro CC on save every 5 minutes. However i just worked on a 30 minute project, but it didn't save once? Why is this? It sometimes saves randomly, but during this full 30 minutes it didn't happen once..

Jim has moved over to other software a couple years back.
So the Autosave is working, you can go to the folders where your saves are stored ... what happens when you try to open one, in detail?

Oh you're a life saver.
I edit semi-professionally with Premiere for Youtube. But I also edit my son's football (soccer?!) games and my M1 Macbook crashes (freezes + reboot) couple of times a week. (this is related!).
I Just thought I lost three hours of work because opening the most recent project gave me a three hour old version. Going to the project folder and opening an autosave from there saved me three hours.
Thank you 🙂

Where was your Autosave set to save to?
Had you done a manual save ever on this project?

For me the autosave set for every 15 min did not work, and it even did not save when I did Ctrl+S.
This is absolutely unacceptable provided the cost of this software.
A reliable saving of projects is a must.

Where are your auto-save and manual saves set to go?
I do know for a few users in the past, their OS was for some reason saving as "hidden" files. Which is weird but maybe worth checking.

Absolute bs. Same here. Adobe is a bunch of crack smoking losers. The billions of hours lost because Adobe can't get the basics right. Please, take your AI generatad VR motion rippler and all these other low value 'improvements' in each version and get the basics right.

The same thing happened to me today. The auto-save folder contained only old files, despite the fact that the saving process interrupted my work at the interval I set. Really cool to find this out after the program immediately crashes after loading the main project for god knows what reason.. this is just amazing Adobe!!

If you are using version 24.5 and have NVIDIA graphics, do a clean installation of the Studio Driver released on July 16th.
That solved my crashing problems.
I've also found that version 24.5 has the best autosave of any version I've used, going back to CS4.

Are you sure you are looking in the correct location?
You may have to do a manual save before autosave starts to work.
Otherwise, try resetting the preferences:
