Hello! I have had the same problem on two computers: a Macbook and a Samsung computer, and the latter is new, so the issue must be in some premiere pro configuration. I must be missing something.
When I'm editing, I use automatic subtitles and they work fine at first. But then when I cut a part of the video or delete some subtitles, the screen goes black on preview, and on export too. The image and subtitles are not visible, but the audio is heard normally.
I have tried putting adjustment layers, changing the processor, nesting the sequences, putting input and output, etc and nothing has worked.
I only have this error when I am using automatic subtitles. Attached information from my computer and from my premiere pro workspace.
I would really appreciate some prompt help. Thanks so much for reading!
Sol.
We recently fixed an issue in Premiere Pro 23.6, involving Captions, that could result in the Prgram Monitor or Export going black. Could you please try 23.6 and let us know if it resolves your issue?
Thak you.

I note that this is a portrait orientation edit with scaling to almost 400%. There are a number of issues that may affect what you see. But it is odd that the screen simply goes black.
Is the video clip in portrait orientation or is it landscape?
It would help to see a screenshot that includes what you showed us, except on the right have the Essential Graphics Panel with a caption selected.

Hello Stan!
The original video is horizontal, but I am editing it in vertical format for youtube shorts.
I just tried clicking on the text in the essential graphics section and you can see the image, but it only lasts for a short time and then it goes all black again. Attachment screenshot:

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
I would duplicate the sequence and simplify it to see if the problem will go away.
For example, sometimes in captions that have been converted to graphics ("upgrade caption to graphic") the anchor point can be a problem. You are animating vector scaling, which can work if the Text properties are centered.
Alternatively, you can create a new test sequence, leave it in landscape orientation, keep the captions as captions initially, and see if the problem occurs.
If this is a bug, you want to be able to describe the steps to get there.

In the original post, I see black frames in the sequence where a caption track it at the top. In the follow-up screenshot, it is Graphic track items at the top and the caption (Subtitles) track is empty. So what we need is another image of captions in that track causing blackness and be able to see the EGP for a selected caption at the same time.
Also if you can save an extra copy of that project with just one caption block and a small piece of media (or better yet synthetic media like bars and tone) then we will really have something to work with.
