Regularly have clips with multiple audio tracks, and only want to monitor a stereo pair (e.g. 5&6) so solo them in the clip mixer.
Next time I return to the source monitor (e.g. after editing portion of clip into timeline) the solo is deselected.
Any way of making the solo 'sticky'? I can't remember being so annoyed about it before so perhaps it is a new 'feature' in 2018?

Just tried in 2017.1.2 and 12.1.1 - in former the solo is kept when switching clip mixer from source to sequence and back again, in the latter the solo is removed. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a 'feature' added?

One idea is to Modify the audio channels down to a stereo config using only 5&6.

Check the Audio Meters for Solo controls at the bottom of the meters. You can now solo specific channels to playback in Source or Program. Pretty handy. Hope that does what you need.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin - they are indeed useful.
You can now solo one leg of a stereo track, for example.
They are also 'sticky' (i.e. solo remains in place when switching source/program and also if source is replaced then reinstated).
'Solo' on audio meter results in 'solo' being lit on audio clip mixer (even though there is no indication of the solo being only 1 leg of a stereo pair), but the reverse is not true.
So very useful, but still needs a bit of work for consitency / clarity I think.

And, further to that, modifying the clip audio channel assignments (e.g. 3x stereo to 1x adaptive) is instantly reflected in the source window (LR LR LR become 123456) but not in the audio clip mixer or the audio meter until the clip is moved.
(Not a big problem though)
