Hi,
I've encountered an incredibly frustrating problem within Premiere. I can't use adjustment layers anymore, as I'm unable to drag them onto my timeline. I can create them, but it keeps showing me the "can't place" icon and therefore renders me unable to actually put them into my sequence. Layers are selected correctly, I've tried new projects, sequences. After reinstalling, it worked again for a brief period of time, but then went back to being bugged out. Next time I reinstalled, it didn't help at all.
I'm in serious need of a fix, as I'll be unable to meet my deadlines otherwise.
Extended search on the net only revealed this thread on the abobe forums:
Can't put adjustment layer on timeline
and this thread on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/editors/comments/5yz5l1/cant_put_adjustment_layer_on_timeline_help_me/
Both did not offer any resolution. PLEASE HELP.
Regards,
Johannes
If Premiere is acting weird trash preferences.
FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences.
If that does not work:
make new project and import old one.
See how that goes.

A screengrab of your timeline are would be so helpful, just drag/drop in onto your reply box.

Thanks Ann, reseting preferences did it...
however, it kinda bugs me that I'll have to reprogram all my keys now . But at least I can get productive again.
Much appreciated.

Before resetting preferences, find the .kys file (where your keyboard shortcuts are saved) and copy it to another location on your computer, perhaps your backup drive. Then copy it back over to its original location after resetting preferences.
