I just updated the 2025 version. I imported the .srt file and found that the panel for adjusting subtitles in Previous Essential Graphic disappeared. I couldn’t find any settings to change the subtitle font, color, and size in the New " Graphic Template " Panel .
Does anyone know where to find it?

incredible. they destroyed what is the most valuable aspect of Premiere Pro for a lot of content creators for absolutely no reason. I have the option to change caption properties, but it's like the Fischer Price version. I can pretty much only change the color and font, nothing else. Disgusting move by this company.

My way of solving it was copy/pasting a subtitle from an older project into the new one. Then I saved and closed the project. When opening it again, the other subtitles were now able to be changed up.

EASY.
1. Select your captions in the timeline.
2. Go to the menu bar at the top of the Premiere Pro browser and click on Window
3. Select Properties from the dropdown menu

Hello, my editor friend, I'll bring you the solution! I was also facing the same problem. I speak Portuguese, so I will translate step by step.
The issue arises because the new properties panel changes based on your selection. You likely can't edit text size or settings like outline and shadow because the wrong subtitle format was selected.
HOW TO FIX
First step: In the timeline, right-click on the name of the subtitle format, which is to the right of the eye where we change the track view.
Second step: Click on track settings
Third step: Change to "subtitle" format
And that's it, click on your caption and edit as normal!
Note: Any other format like Australian OP-47, CEA-608 or 708, EBU subtitle or teletext you will have the same problem!

New properties panel is fine but this should not be marked as solved. Even after finding it, subtitles were not able to be edited until I closed and re-opened Premeire. Frustrating.

Hello guys, I think I might have cracked the code here. I tried over and over again to understand why the normal caption settings arent appearing. First of all, you need to add the "Properties" window to the premiere and if that still doesn't work then you might have added the captions wrong. So when adding them select the "subtitle" option and that should bring all of your previous caption settings and you can change them. Happy editing!

It sounds like you’re encountering a layout change or feature shift with the new version of Premiere Pro (2025) and how it handles subtitle adjustments. In recent updates, Adobe has been gradually consolidating and reworking the tools for captions and graphics, so the “Previous Essential Graphics†panel might have been replaced or altered in favor of the new “Graphic Template†Panel.
Here are a few steps to adjust your subtitle font, color, and size in the 2025 version:
1. Check the “Captions†Panel:
• After importing the .srt file, go to the Captions panel (Window > Captions).
• You should be able to select the subtitle track here. Once selected, try adjusting font, size, and color using the options available in the “Essential Graphics†panel or the “Text†tab within the Captions panel itself.
2. Essential Graphics for Subtitle Adjustments:
• If you want more granular control over the appearance of the subtitles, you can use the Essential Graphics panel (Window > Essential Graphics).
• Select the subtitle text in the timeline, then open the Edit tab within the Essential Graphics panel. This should allow you to tweak font, size, and color.
• If the captions are being imported as text layers, you can adjust them in the same way you would with normal text layers in Essential Graphics.
3. Style Presets for Captions:
• Adobe might have introduced some new default settings or preset styles for captions in the 2025 version. You may find these in the Captions panel or Essential Graphics panel where you can apply them directly.
4. Update and Preferences:
• If these options aren’t appearing as expected, check if there’s an update available for your Premiere Pro (2025), as there may be a bug or minor version update to fix this.

I read through this whole string and nothing helped me. Still can not edit multiple CCs nor can i paste my linked style to multiple "Upgrade Captions to Graphic" blocks on my timeline.
I am frustrated, because this adds multiple minutes to hours of work to my load and this should be obviously working.
Bump!

There is a significant learning curve to the captions workflow introduced in 2021. And it has been rapidly evolving with text-based editing, the style browser, and now the revised Properties panel. This can be confusing and frustrating.
Screenshots would help, as would the specific PR version you are using and your OS.
Some of what follows may not be clear. For example, I don't address many specifics about use of the style browser. Ask more questions as needed.
As illustrated by this thread, the most common problems were:
Here are some things to keep in mind:
Not finding the Properties Panel
Yes, it's as simple as opening it: Windows -> Properties. But once any custom workspaces you have are updated, it should open when you double-click a caption or text item.
The properties Panel is open but no controls, or limited controls, appear.
You must have at least one caption block or text instance selected in the timeline.
If it is a graphics text instance, you must also click on a layer.
A "shape" layer will have limited controls compared to a text layer.
Selecting multiple items may result in no or limited controls.
Caption formats other than Subtitle
By the specifications for closed captions etc, some style options are not available. If you are burning captions in, you can use the Subtitle format and have much more control over the appearance of the captions.
To change the format, Right-click on the Caption Track Header, pick Track Settings, and change to Subtitle.
If you need closed captions, the limitations are there for a reason.
Applying styles or text attributes to multiple caption blocks or text instances.
You can apply changes to an entire caption track by just creating a caption track style. This is the default.
You can apply changes to some, but not all captions in a track, by selecting those captions and changing the attributes in the Properties panel. This can be complicated depending on what you are trying to achieve.
But graphics text does not work that way.
When you select multiple graphics text instances, some attributes are available in the Properties panel, and can be changed for only the selected text. But the style browser is not available, and you cannot change the style in the Properties panel.
To change the style of multiple graphics text instances: Select the desired instances in the timeline. Locate the Style in the Project Panel. Drag it to one of the selected text instances.
Note that you must have created the desired style in the project, not just as a local style. If you have a local style that is not in the project, go to the style browser, right-click that style, and Set as the style. That will add it to your project in the Project Panel.

I had this issue with text that was a "subtitle" from an earlier version all white. I wanted all to be yellow. To get the new version functionality I did the following: While the text track was still a "subtitle" I made my color and drop shadow choice > Right clicked on the word subtitle and changed track setting to "EBU Subtitle" > In the properties panel saved a new "track style" (click the + symbol next to the "Track style") > Selected all the other subs and changed to the new style > changed my "track setting" back to "subtitle" from EBU-sibtitle.

For older versions, yes. Now, you can now change all captions by clicking on the button 'redefine style' under "track style".
Thanks,
Kevin
