Is there a way to go into preferences and change the default font type and size for creating captions? It seems to be already set at Minion Pro Regular at 48.
Is there a way to change that?

Create a Graphic with text and in the Edit tab of the Essential Gaphics panel set the preferred settings and then save that as a Text Style.
When creating Captions, apply that Style in the New Captions Track dialog box.
If Captions have already been created, select a Caption in the Captions Track in the Timeline and then set the Track Style in the Essential Graphics panel.
For more information:
Premiere Pro User Guide > Titles, Graphics, and Captions > Captions > Working with captions. Then scroll down to Create styles for your captions.

Hi, Annika here, Quality Engineer for text things in Premiere Pro. @Warren Heaton is spot on. And we just made styles better. Where you needed to create or import an existing style for each project you work on we now allow you to save your styles to a default location so you can use that style across projects on the same machine.
