For some reason when switching between the audio and video view in the editing pane the software completely crashes. This is making it impossible for me to use premiere. Anyone else having this problem.

I'm using macbook pro with Mojave and the latest version off premiere.

I know audio and video workspaces but I'm not sure what you mean by "view" ... ?

I'm not sure what the correct terminology is. When previewing the clip in the editing pane you can switch between looking at the video & audio, or just audio. It crashes every time I make a selection in audio view and then switch back to video & audio. Screenshot 2018-11-04 at 17.03.19.png

I think that is the Source monitor... but it shouldn't crash from switching.

What are your audio hardware settings?

R Neil Haugen this is a weird problem indeed. So when he switches to waveform view on the source monitor he's crashing premiere? Woah that has got to be a hardware issue. I wonder if he is running any external sound cards or interfaces. Seems he hasn't set up his audio hardware correctly. OP can u post the hardware you are running please.

Sure! Here is what I'm currently using. I'm not using any external sound cards or interfaces that I am aware of.Screenshot 2018-11-04 at 20.12.35.png

Go to preferences in PP and check your audio hardware settings and choose built in audio. Let us know what happens. Also what is the audio codec and format of the audio files on the timeline. If you double click the file to bring it up on the source monitor are you getting audio playback there? If you are then there is an issue on your sequence settings. How did you create a new sequence?

Hi Mo the playback settings are set to built in audio, it's still crashing all the time. I am getting audio in the source monitor and I can listen to it.

I just create a new sequence by going to new>sequence and I normally choose HDV 1080p but if it prompts me to change sequence settings to match the clips...I usually do that. Could that be the issue?
