On every update we are always confronted by issues and this is normal,
even if Adobe engineers are debugging their software as much as they can,
it is not always an Adobe issue. Adobe is trying to adapt its software to the
highest variety of editing platforms, but this leaves the Video Editor with
a responsibility no one else can handle it for him. Do not ever update your
editing software while still in the midst of projects and under tight deadlines.
Do backups before, if you really need to update and test on different machines.
and do not ever forget to switch off automatic updates on the creative cloud app!

SO TRUE!
I work with a lot of colorists ... I even teach pro colorists. Most of them based in Resolve, and they would never ever update even a minor version of Resolve without testing on a secondary machine to make sure that with their gear, media, effects, and workflow it is simply rock-solid.
I'm always amazed at the number of people that update any software without testing it first if they're using it for deadlined projects. I just don't understand that.
And with the Adobe apps, (unlike Resolve) you can have mulitiple major versions installed so one could keep working in 2021 while testing new projects in 2022. And when it's stable on your machine, migrate.
