dual monitor no longer working in Premiere

I have a strange problem that appears to only affect Premiere Pro. I am using a Mac 5,1 tower, 32GB RAM, Nvidia GTX980Ti card, Apple 24" and 27" Cinema displays, and CC Premiere Pro 2017.0.2 release.

For 4+ years, I have used a customized workspace that splits up panels within Premiere Pro. I simply dragged panels where I wanted them to be, and saved a workspace for my use. Worked great, until yesterday.

When opening any Premiere Pro project, initially both monitors appear as expected, but after 10 to 30 seconds one of my two monitors turns solid white. If I close the project and reopen that project, or open another project, the same behavior happens. Rebooting Premiere or my Mac does not resolve it.

I am able to set the monitor that turns white to be a "playback" monitor to see full screen playback of the program. That works, but I want my customized workspace panels back!

I am able to use both monitors with other dual screen configurations (tested with Adobe Audition), and place other apps in either screen. Everything outside of Premiere Pro is working like normal. Any clue as to why Premiere Pro is unable to use my dual screen workspace and how to restore it?
