Edit Clip in Adobe Audition not working 2020

I typically Control Click on my music bed track, choose Edit Clip in Adobe Audition and it opens the clip in Audition for me to make adjustments.  This no longer functions in 2020 - it opens Audition but doesn't bring the clip into the software.  Please help - I know about the work arounds, but that workflow is simply broken, but very useful.  Thanks.

Adobe, this is a significant issue--what's the word? (PP and Audition are up-to-date on my machine)

By the way--a work-around is:

  1. Unlink the audio file (if working with composite video/audio source) -- r-click > Unlink
  2. Double-click the unlinked audio track on the timeline. This should bring up the audio track in the source monitor.
  3. Select the source monitor panel--should be highlighted with a blue outline (in the default UI color scheme anyway)
  4. With that audio source panel selected, pick File > Export Media.
  5. In the Export Settings dialog, specify an audio format in the Format field, and other settings, as needed.
  6. Export that audio file
  7. Do the necessary edits in an audio editor, and save
  8. Import back into PP

Yikes! I'm having this same problem, too. Latest CC 2020 versions-- brand new Mac Pro tower... and can't get any work done.

Same trouble here. When I choose Edit in Adobe Audition I can see Premiere Pro preparing the sequence, but nothing happens. Latest versions of all Adobe software and working on an iMac Pro.

Same issues here with PPro edit clip in Audition. Nothing happens, Adobe where are you?

Yeah, still broken. I'll say it again, will we get a credit for paying for something that doesn't work the way it should?

I'm going to call right now and essentially ask for one. Thank God I have FCP at home.

...which did not address the issue.

I have the exact same problem.  Expected it to be fixed with latest update.  But, of course not.  This is par for the course with Adobe.  I expect it will be corrected in about a year.  The key thing to undertand is that Adobe is just not very good at what they do.

Me either. This is a huge issue and essentially breaks Adobe CC.

Not working for me still, fresh install of latest Premiere and Audition apps. Please Adobe.

Anybody find a real solution to this problem? I'm running the latest versions of both softwares but whenever I click "Edit clip in Audition", Audition opens but does not load the clip. Premier just creates an extracted file in my project window, if i try to send that one to Audition, it just creates another extracted file.

I talked to Adobe and they admitted they know this is a problem.  There is no solution until another update comes out.

Darn. Wish I had read that comment before I ran the cleaner tool. Now, for some reason, I can no longer launch Premiere Pro. Crashes on startup. I really don't appreciate Adobe's consistent failure to communicate this stuff more widely. Now I took action that I didn't need to and have hosed my install.
