Hi Everybody,
so, to download the correct data (in the first attempt, using download manager)
I used
Firefox as browser
and DownThemAll download manager
http://www.downthemall.net/howto/features/
if you have Firefox use this link:

I have had success at long last getting the contents onto my computer. I went through 3 different adobe specialists taking over my computer, moving to my PC to try that route, and even having my ISP opening the internet flood gates for me. It always stalled just before finishing. Finally (fortunately I live in a small town) I called my ISP and he downloaded the file for me there and gave it to me on a thumb drive. I used the Unarchiver to extract the files.
I tried everything and nothing worked except that I have a friendly neighborhood ISP. I am seriously flabergasted that Adobe would sell me a product that will not work without important components that are nearly impossible to obtain. Now I need to figure out how to get them into the program so I can begin work. Hopefully not another several weeks.

Good news, I agree Adobe could have resolved it much better. I guess the correct way to install these files is just to copy / paste them to your Library files, usually: Computer / C / Program Files / Adobe / Adobe Encore CS6 / Library Than restart Encore and it should be there in the right bottom window. Good luck! Michal

Yes Adobe should resolve this better. They already have the means to do it. All they need to do is make an addition to the Application Manager product list that shows the functional content. Then it should install it when chosen just like any other program in the Application Manager. They could even break it out into parts for each of the programs that there is functional content for. But for some reason they like torturing thier paying customers.

thanks Michalek. I didn't know what I was doing but I fiddled and suddenly there they were, in the library. It's wonderful. I do hope they get this figured out though for the poor schmucks like me forking it over not knowing the horror that awaits. Oh well. Hopefully they'll know someone at the office. thanks all.

I had the same problem - recently upgraded to CS6 for a new project, I get the video edited, then "Send to Encore" and only 2 sets had any content - one "Halloween" and one "Travel". Came here, searched the Encore forums, followed the various discussions, tried re-installing, then re-downloading and re-installing, all no good - and not knowing ahead of time that the CS6 functional content installer would wipe out my CS5.5 library, I was about to go back and re-install 5.5, when something in my head went "PING".
Right-click CS6 content installer, "Run as administrator", and looky here! All the content has been installed and is available in Encore. How do we pass this on to the right person at Adobe for evaluation and testing?
cheers

"Send to Encore" and only 2 sets had any content - one "Halloween" and one "Travel".
This is not normal. I have done this numerous times as part of testing the issues, and the basic "Install the CS6 Functional Content" includes one or more menus in each of the menu groups in the library. I would never disagree with "running as administrator" for anything in Encore, but I did not "run as administrator" any of the times I successfully installed this. In Windows 7, of course, I was always prompted (as a regular user with administrative rights) as to whether to allow the install.
All the content has been installed and is available in Encore.
When you say "all the content," are you referring to the buttons etc, or just all the menus that are included in the functional content installer? The "full library content/functional content" is not an installer, but a download and double extraction where you choose the location.
Just curious, as we never know when something may change with all this!
In any event, congrats on finding a way!
I still have no reasonable idea what adobe was thinking with the "delete the library from CS5.5 when you install the limited functional content in CS6" craziness!

The base install of Encore (i.e. when I first fired it up after installation of CS6) had one menu in the "Travel" category, but no buttons. The only other menu was "Halloween" in the "Entertainement" category, All other categories were empty of all content. After installing the first content package (named "PremierePro_6_Content_LS7", about 740MB) there was no change. There were some files in the "Library" sub-directory that looked like menu items, buttons, etc, but they did not appear in Encore - I believe another thread mentions something about unusual filneame extensions, e.g. filename.pmdloc, and removing the 'loc' made the items visible in Encore.
Anyway, after mucking around, re-downloading the installer, and trying again with no improvement, it occurred to me that programs need special/administrator permissions to write to the "Programs Files" directory, and that I'd seen references to other issues that were solved with "Run as administrator" (Encore 5.5 wouldn't write a DVD DL image without it). That fixed it. There were now some menu templates visible, with buttons, etc. I didn't record all the details because I was keen to move to the next step - download the big 1.7GB full content file. That was also extracted and copied to "Library" under Administrator authority and now I have all the menus, buttons, styles, etc.

Before Shuchi's post, I DL the Encore content and used WinZip (Win 7 64Bit) to extract the files to a folder I created inside Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Encore CS6. Then opened Encore and pointed the Media Preferences to the Library folder. The content appeared in the Library panel ans is complete with menus, buttons, images, etc. You have to select each set name (General, Corporate, etc) to initialize the library for that set.
Still need complete directions for the Premiere Pro Content.

Of course, even after I install WinZip it still says it's an invalid archive! Ugh!

@JZuck...I mis-spoke when I said I extracted "directly" into that folder...
I got that same error when trying to extract directly into the newly created folder. I extracted to a folder on my Desktop, then copied the extracted folder (en-US) to the new folder. Not sure why that worked, but it did.

I just downloaded it again and opened it with winzip and that seemed to fix it. Proably did something different and didn't realize it. Created the directories finally and that worked as well. There's more than library there also templates and styles. Looks like it's finding styles but I don't know where to look for templates.
Now if I can just get loop point to work in CS6 I'll be golden!

Why in the world would Adobe use the .7z format, knowing that most Windows users won't be able to unzip the file without downloading a third party app??
And when is someone going to explain how to use the Premiere Pro content?
Adobe, ARE YOU LISTENING?????????
On the positive side, I was finally able to download the Encore english file. Now, I have to download some 7z app so I can actually use it.

The earlier DL of the Premiere content (the one with the exe file) actually seems to have worked for me (Win 7 64 Bit) but there are still critical issues and questions.
1. The Title content is there when creating a "new title from template", but I don't know if it's complete.
2. When browsing the templates from the create new title window, the names appear in a directory style list on the left and when you single click on one of the titles, a preview is displayed on the right side. There are 2 issues here in that the preview image is not always completely over-written when you select another (differernt) title. The other glaring issue is that the display area for the preset title names is not properly sized and/or the scroll bar has issues when clicking the arrow to expand a category.
The most recent DL, when unzipped, is multi-lingual and, as has been mentioned many times here, has NO direction for installation.
Hopefully, Adobe will see, acknowledge, and fix these remaining issues with the Functional Content.

OK, I have had to do some weird things to get the download to work, sort of. I need to know which files to extract to in encore for the following folders from the download. The Main, Styles and Template folders. Where do I put them when extracted? If I do it automaticly they disappear somewhere and I can't find them. I got the Library folder into Encore and linked it but the others I don't know what to do with.

Here is what I did after downloading the file (Win 7 64 Bit)....
1. Extracted to a folder on my desktop. This created a folder called en-US
2. Created a folder in C>Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Encore CS6. I named this folder Sample_Content
3. Copied the ENTIRE en-US folder created in #1 to the newly created Sample_Content folder.
4. Opened Encore and went to Edit>Preferences>Media and pointed to the Library folder inside the Sample_Content folder.
5. The items appeared in the Library panel in Encore.
Note: You will have to select each category name in order to "initialize" them. Do the same in the Styles tab.
Good Luck

I had success with Encore also. I just downloaded the Premiere Pro Content file and the content has changed from the file I downloaded yesterday. This file has content for both a Mac and Win. I suggest you download it again. When I unzipped the windows section I got encription warnings. It would be nice to know what to expect. I have not installed it yet because I am not sure this has been tested by Adobe.
