Export as Motion Graphics Template Greyed Out - only text and simple graphic

I am trying to save a simple little name intro that will slide in and then disappear from the bottom left.

This was two layers - the text itself and a black matte background layer that I transformed and changed to yellow. I created this in Premiere Pro, and NOT in After Effects.

I've tried exporting this combination for future projects as a Motion Graphics Template, but that option is greyed out when I right click on it and when I select Graphics and Titles from the top (see image).

I also tried "Nesting" the two layers, and the Motion Graphics Template option is still greyed out.

How do I save this for future use?

I don't want to have to re-open previous projects all the time and copy it over, because they may not always be on the same hard-drive and therefore couldn't be opened.

If you want to export a mogrt everything needs to be in one Graphic.

Multi layers or nest wont work.

Thanks for your comment. The text layer itself can be exported as a mogrt but the black matte background thingy won't on its own. But I can create text really easily - I don't need that saved as a mogrt. I need the animation on the black matte layer to be exported but it won't let me do that.

Put the black matte (it will act like a clip) in with the graphics text > export as mogrt.

I really appreciate the help. I am trying to put the black matte into (or onto) the text... but not sure how to do that. Looking up how as well. I'm obviously a beginner at this.

I'll look up clips on text.

Drag color matte from the project window into the EGP.

Yeah it isn't letting me click and drag anything onto the Essential Graphics Panel, or onto the Effect Controls panel for the text itself. I tried dragging the color matte from the Project files into both of the above, and I also tried dragging the color matte directly from the sequence editing area into both of the above, and I'm getting a little "cannot move" hand icon.

I don't know what you are doing differently but as shown in my screenshot it works.

Drag from the PROJECT panel into the Essential Graphics Panel (need to make a text or shape first) not the ECP.

I keep coming back to this reply, so I've exported the two layers as one animated JPG.

It is now, as you say, one graphic. "Export as Motion Graphic Template *STILL* grayed out. So now what...stumped you, didn't I?
