Hi, I've been having issues with Premiere lately previewing and exporting footage, for some reason after I updated premiere to the latest version, I've been coming across those issues with some of the footage flashing green, and becoming distorted in certain situations. I've tried to change my project settings to using MPE only and it didn't work, I've tried to reset preferences while booting up premiere, and that didn't solve any issues. Most of the files are .mov and .mp4 Does anyone know any solution to this issue?

Please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card and source properties and sequence settings.  Updates often make greater demands on your system, so what worked well before may not work as well after updating.  Does your system meet the minimum specs?

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html

and what you describe is often because of either an unsupported graphics card or a graphics card that needs it's driver updated.

You can always revert to the previous version of premiere that was working well for you...

did you recently update your os to bigsur?  that's probably the issue...  It's brand new and apple doesn't always play nice with 3rd party apps...  I'm sure adobe (and maybe apple) are working on this.  Always a good idea to create a bootable backup before updating your os.  However, I think apple has made that difficult.  Not sure if carboncopycloner (my go to app for creating a bootable clone) is compatible with aps or big sur...  You might reach out to apple and ask if it's possible to revert to an earlier OS.  good luck with that.

16 gigs of ram is not ideal for editing 4k.  Have you tried a proxy workflow?  It's not that easy to get your head around, but once you've figured it out, it's usually rocksolid.
