Question

GPU Render error & extremely slow exports with Apple M1 chip

When I want to render my video, I keep getting GPU render errors and my system also gets really slow once in a while. Premiere Pro is also using 130% of my CPU, that doesn't sound very normal to me, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Currently, I'm using the MacBook Air 2021 with the 8‑core CPU & 7‑core GPU M1 Chipset (258gb storage) for editing 1920/1080 25fps short video's (around 3 minutes, sometimes 10 minutes) at the office.
Already transcoded every file to Quicktime ProRes 422, made sure the sequences settings are the same and made Lowres proxies.

When I render/export the files on my Windows PC at home, it doesn't show any of these problems.

Does someone have the same issues and/or have a fix for this? It's getting on my nerves, since I have so much more work to do.

Hi Sietseves,

I bought this macbook air M1 just for editing videos and yesterday I also bought the adobe licence. I was very excited to edit my videos on it, specially after watching many videos of video editing in 4k using this macbook and everything running smoothly. However, even a preview with 1/4 of quality of a 1080p 24fps was lagging AF. And at the time I watched those videos, adobe hadn't even optimized adobe premiere pro for the M1 processor. So I don't know, I've either been scammed (been sold a intel one instead) or everything was a big lie.
