Hi!

I'm having an issue with my brand new MacBook Pro. I sometimes get these horizontal lines all over the computer, it looks like it's been smashed on the ground. See attached. I've spoken to Apple a million times and even brought it in and they find no faults. The thing is, it's only happened when I use Premiere Pro.

Could it really be a software issue???

I have the latest operating software 10.13.5 and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere.

Please help! IMG_2723.PNG

Hi Linda,

Try to Enable root user and check if the problem occurs in that too.

How to enable the root user on your Mac or change your root password - Apple Support

Also, check the below thread from apple and try to apply the solution.

Horizontal grey lines across entire displ… - Apple Community

Hi,

Thanks for your response!

Not sure about doing the Root user, as it can happen as rarely as once a week.

And the second thread unfortunately does not help. Apple has said they've tried everything (over chat and in person, they took the whole computer apart)

and they are now insisting it's an Adobe software issue.

Can it be??

It can be when your system hasn't been restarted or system usage is high which means many applications running at the same time. So, whenever it happens try to shut down the machine and restart after 15 mins or try to close other applications which you are not using.

I also require your system specs mainly RAM and Graphics card specs.

Hi,

Odd, I have an older Macbook Pro which has 8GB RAM and it has never happened when using the same programmes, even if I'm using up most of my Ram...

I don't think I'm ever close to using most of my RAM in Premiere, sometimes in After Effects but never in Premiere... And it only happens while using Premiere.

RAM 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Thank you!

Linda

Go to Apple Menu>System reports and check if you have any other GPU apart from Intel one.

If yes, go to System Preferences>Display and uncheck "Switchable graphics" option at the top.

Also, mention your CPU make and model.

Thanks Linda for the information.

One more information: Whether the lines appear once you try to open a project or it is while launching Premiere Pro?

Actually sort of related to this, my Premiere Pro shuts down "because of a serious error" at least once a day. Could it be related?

It's never happened on my older Macbook Pro. So strange!!

Hi, Can you please reply to this? I need to know if it's an Adobe issue? Apple is refusing to claim responsibility.
