Hi All,

I've uploaded a number of videos from my iPhone and want to get them onto the timeline.

I've successfully imported and transferred 3 of them (really easy) without issue but the fourth will not transfer even though it's from the same phone in the same format. All I get is the soundtrack.

The faulty video plays perfectly in Windows 10. I have successfully exported the faulty video from MOV to MP4 format and tried to import again - no luck. The MP4 plays perfectly in Windows 10.

The faulty video will play in the preview panel no problem.

I'm perplexed as to why PP will not transfer this file over.

A bit of advice please?

Strange, so you can view it in the Source Panel without any problem, but when you drag it from source to the timeline/project it won't import? Was gonna say corrupted footage, but strange that it's still an issue after encoding. Can you transfer it again from your phone in case the file was corrupted somehow? Also, do you know which codec the video is in?

Try converting the source file with Handbrake - https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php

Be sure to set export to Fixed Frame Rate of 29.97

This often resolves issues with phone clips which can be variable frame rate

Thanks

Jeff

What have you tried converting to first? It sure sounds like it's corrupted if all the other files from your phone work fine, but this one is just being troublesome. Can you import it into After Effects or Media Encoder to transcode there first?

Thanks Jeff - that is correct. It will play in the preview panel but cannot drag to the timeline. The file is not corrupted, Any other ideas? No help from Adobe I see....
