I am working on a very heavy project with multiple sources, green screen and virual backgrounds. It took me over five hours to render this thing out and when I shut it down and re-opened it, all my renders were gone. In fact one time I duplicated a sequence and lost half the render files. I am on Premiere Pro 2020 and this is a major problem. I have more of the shows comming and if this keeps up I will have to switch to Avid. Is there anyway to avoid this?

thanks for your help @JonesVid. i am working on a 30 min documentary with 50p UHD footag from Sony FX3 - mostly XAVC-HS. As its taxing the system I am mostly working with proxy files - prores proxy in UHD. Especially when restarting premiere or reopening the project this happens. Not all Render files are lost but suddenly there are a lot of yellow or red parts in the green timeline. I am working with adjustment layers for CC, sharpening Video filter, those are always locked and the lost files are not restrickted to a certain adjustment layer area.

Same issue here! And absolutely puzzled to see that Adobe is not providing any answer to this issue.
What the hell is going on?

Hi Ronald,
I've heard about this issue, and it seems to have something to do with ProRes files. One user recommended trying DNxHD/HR files for video preview files instead and didn't have the problem any longer. Can you try a test and see if that might be a solid workaround for you? If so, be sure to report back, so I can let the product team know. Sorry for the frustration.
Thanks,
Kevin
