Loud Static Noises/Screeching

Hi everyone.

I'm just starting to use Premiere Pro. My build is a Ryzen 3600, 32gb ddr4 @2400mhz, 2070, running on a nvme. I captured my footage using shadowplay and obs, both around 100mbps to 130mbps bitrate. Thing is (and no matter what video or quality) I'm getting some very loud screeching/noises at - seemingly - random moments in the premier playback. Normal playback using MPC runs just fine. Look:

Also, here's my audio settings:

adobe premiere 2.JPG

Notice how the noise only comes from the left side... I tried using various sound effects but nothing helped - except dynamic processing, but it only muted the left channel at every spike, so not ideal I would say.

So... any help is appreciated. Pretty please.

Oh, just to reiterate: it happens with every video, not just my captures and no matter the quality, lenght or extension. Cheers.

are your source files variable frame rate or constant frame rate?  If variable, try converting to constant frame rate.  And if not already, make sure the audio is uncompressed 48k 16 bit...

You can check the format of your sources with media info

And handbrake can be found at

I have exactly the same issue. I have changed my audio setting to every option available and the digital glitches continue and get worse the more processing power I use. I am also on a Ryzen 5 3600 system. Please let me know if you have had any luck fixing it. My only solution was to switch the Windows "Power Saver" mode but then performance is quite drastically affected. Although, it's a nice fix for when I'm not using Premiere.

I am using proper studio speakers (Yamaha HS50M) and I have tried two different external sound card options. I actually think it's the processor, but no-one else seems to agree with me!

My solution was to use Davinci Resolve. But since I last updated it... I started having the same problem again 😞 Did you find a solution withouth switching to power saver mode?

Do your audio waveforms show the screeching?

I'll just throw this out there. I very much don't like Motherboard drivers. Or Nvidia sound drivers. I never install them save for if Windows can't find its own driver. If you have the Windows drivers, I would switch to the Windows drivers, uninstalling the MB drivers if the problem persists.
