Hi, i have a problem with marker, if deleted they reappear when the project is reopened.
I analyzed them, they are not blocked, they are not present if I open the file (audio in this case) in Audition, I delete them and every time the project is reopened they reappear, is it a bug or is it something that needs to be definitively deleted?
I specify that it only does this in this audio file (wave).
Thanks to anyone who can advise me.
I don't understand that Audition doesn't see them. Are PR markers not the same as Audition markers? I just don't know.
Anyway, having XMP on DOES save to the file itself. If the markers were saved to the file at some point, and XMP is now off, the file will NOT update to remove the markers when you delete them.
I just tested, and in such a case, when I reopen the project, it appears to scan the file and again shows the marker.
So turn XMP on, clear the markers, and turn it off. I found tha

just a quick guess: Could it have something to do with the settings for preferences: media: "write clip markers to xmp" and "enable clip and xmp meta data linking." Worth a quick test.

Hi, I tried to do what you recommend, but it had no effect, in any case it was already disabled.
Note: the problem occurs exclusively on this audio file, on other clips or images if I insert a marker and then delete it, when I reopen the program they no longer appear.

does it only happen on this .wav files or all .wav files? Can you check the permissions for the file making sure you have read/write privileges? If you're on the mac, I can help you with this. Not so sure on windows.

The file permissions are correct, also because if they did NOT allow writing, I wouldn't even have been able to insert markers on that file, and in any case I see little correlation between a file permission and Premiere which writes everything it does to a data container or database, and doesn't directly on the files, be they audio, video or images.

Does that work for you?

When there are markers on a clip, I'm unable to clear them permanently. I open the clip in the Source Monitor and clear the markers. When I close and reopen the same project, the markers show up again on the clip.

Thanks @Kevin-Monahan. I am still having the issue. "Write clip markers to XMP" is off, but I'm still having the issue.

@KazuTa ,
Write clip markers to XMP, which must be ON when you remove them. Otherwise, the file is not changed.

I did the test you suggested and it worked! Now I wonder why the "Write marker in XMP clip" function is deactivated by default? What is its usefulness and function?

I have it turned off because I have a media drive that I automatically backup to another drive using Carbon Copy Cloner which only updates the backup with any files that have changed... Needless to say, when you update the metadata (which is not crucial) large media files get updated which can take a lot of time... Haven't had any coffee yet, so if that's not clear, I can go into more detail.

and changing this preference should be a onetime event for all the time you're working on your system unless you need to reset your preferences.
