Mask not showing

Hello,

I am running Adobe Pr 11.1 on Mac OS X.

I am trying to get a glow effect to appear on an object (a yellow key card) part way through a shot.

I tried creating a mask and boosting the whites, which gives me the look I want. I set keyframes for mask opacity so the glow can come in, but now the mask does not show at all, even during the part of the frame at which it's opacity is 100%. Screenshot below.

I also tried adding a copy of the clip as B-Roll, and keeping the mask opacity consistent but fading in the opacity of the entire B-Roll clip, and encountered the same problem. I have done this successfully before, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

For the mask to show the mask needs to be highlighted in the Program Monitor.

I mean that the effect that I applied to the mask is not showing in playback.

Might want to trash preferences and plugin cache.
