Ok, this is just a minor frustration that can really drive me nuts. When I'm trying to mask a path on a clip to reveal an image below said clip, I free draw the mask (inverted). When doing so, as I grab the corners of the mask, invariably I end up grabbing the non-visible little arch tools that give the sides shape. Is there some way to avoid doing this, like ever? I can count the number of times I've wanted to arch my mask on one hand. I usually use like a door frame, pillar, or some other straight edge to create the mask that I want, so the arch is extremely unhelpful.
Is there some way to disable this? I feel like if I had a much larger monitor and was able to blow up the work area I'd be able to see the actual corners clearer and avoid this, but I don't currently have that luxury.
This image shows what I mean, and what I'm trying to avoid:

I do recommend a 24" 1080 monitor at a minimum.

I work on dual 24" 1080 monitors. I plan to step up my primary screen to a 27" or larger 1440p monitor soon.
Of course after I posted this I masked another transition and this issue didn't happen ONCE to me. That is the first time it has ever worked smoothly for me though.

I use the full screen (tilde key/grave) and magnify setting to view the nodes.
Before animating the mask make sure the nodes are set to non bezier. (alt click)

You won't get a curve when using the pen tool if you are not moving the mouse when you click to lay a point.

That screen grab is from a 24"? Looks more like a 14".
