My projects in premiere pro are not saving

I noticed something last night, all of the projects I had in premiere pro were not there, they were gone.

I had to go to my auto save folder to retrieve an auto save and work from that.

I saved the work in premiere and closed it, this morning my project is gone again?

Is there a reason why my recent projects are  being removed?

When I launch premiere there are no recent projects. I had almost 10

Did you do a search on your computer for the project files?

Even though they are not listed in Recent Projects, they may still be there.

Did you save it to an external drive that is no longer connected to the computer?

Did you save backup copies of your project files?

All my videoproduction students were working on projects and saved them and the next day all of their projects are gone. I looked through the computer to see if I could find them anywhere and they are gone. They are super upset that they have to start over and feel all their hard work will be lost again. I plan to have them save their projects in another drive.
