Need to Export H.264 as .mov

I need to send video files with embedded closed captions to TV stations. MP4 does not support embedded closed captions, .mov does. This used to be an option. Video file has to be exported as .mov with embedded closed caption selected under Caption settings (not an option with mp4). I need H264 to keep video file size down. Any ideas on a work-around? Also, trying to locate how I can download an older version of media encoder, to no avail. Thanks in advance.

You can try the beta version of Premiere Pro to export H.264 in a mov wrapper. You can download it in the Creative Cloud app. The version of Premiere Pro you have today can co excist with the beta version.

I am not 100% sure that captions are supported in the new beta though.

To confirm, are you saying they've added this option back into the beta version? As long as it's exporting to .mov I think the drop-down in caption settings will include embed.

i just downloaded the beta and can confirm under quicktime, there's a new setting called "H264 Match Source" and yes there's an option to embed the captions. Thank you @Averdahl, you're a life and time saver, appreciate you!

Thanks for reporting back. I'm so glad our devs were able to fulfill this request. We have not seen .mov wrapped H.264 since Apple deprecated that capability back in 2017. Yay, Team Adobe!
