New computer, clean app install and phantom 3rd party mogrts appear...

I've just purchased a new M2 MacBook Pro -

2023 M2 Max 16'" MacBook Pro

64GB Memory

Ventura 13.4

Premiere Pro 23.4

I wanted a fresh start so I only migrated my user from old intel MacBook pro, did not migrate any applications. Did a clean install of Adobe Creative Cloud and Premiere Pro. When I launced PP and created a fresh, new test project, I noticed that some mogrts appeared in the essential graphics panel that I specifically do not want on this new computer. When I went to search for them in the Motion Graphics Templates Folder in the Library, they are not there. I even did a search on the whole drive and there are no mogrts anywhere to be found, other than the default Adobe ones. Then I thought I had inadvertantly migrated something over from my old system, so I followed all the steps and used Adobe Cleaner to scrub everything Adobe from the drive and start fresh again. After scrubbing and clean installing everything, these old mogrts are still there. On top of that, you cannot delete them from the Essential Graphics Panel either. If I right click on them, "delete" is greyed out. Other than comletely wiping the whole drive and doing a clean system install without my previous user data (which I don't want since I really want my mail and music to stay), I am at a loss.

Any insight?

Thanks for your message. Your problem sounds unusual. I was going to ask if the .mogrt files are from a Library, but it appears that is unchecked. Perhaps our .mogrt specialist @Dacia Saenz can offer some advice.

I really hope we can help you solve this one. I can appreciate you wanting to start with a fresh copy of Premiere Pro with no other third-party templates installed. Sorry for the frustration.

I did, however, figure it out with a suggestion from a FB PP user group. It turns out that a couple of years ago, those offending mogrts were synced to my adobe cloud and were sitting up there mucking up the joint. I dug around, found them and deleted them and all is right again.

Phew! I guess I'll have to pay closer attention in the future to what's happening in the cloud.

Hi @CRFlanagan,

You are in a mode where you are viewing mogrts from both Local and CC Libs vie. The option to "Copy to Local" and the inability to Delete indicated that you're looking at a mogrt in CC Libraries. 

Having no check is the equivalent of "showing all."

 
Check on only the Local Templates View if you don't want to see any mogrts of your personal or shared CC Libs accounts.

If that's not the case, it may be an issue that you have a set of stale Mogrt thumbnails. 

Navigate to the depths of your hidden library folders. Search Finder for "/var" and then you have to hunt through the folders that are not blocked for you until you find the /T/ProBrowser folder. 

• On mac: /var/folders/<>/<>/T/ProBrowser 
  
  

Delete that folder and Premiere will generate a new set of thumbnails for you.
